The strange thing about Cleveland is how good Kevin Stefanski is at keeping things together when the wheels are constantly falling off the clown car, as it’s hurtling down the highway. If he’s not the best head coach in the league, he must at least be the best in a crisis.
As a Steelers fan, I'd gladly trade coaches with the Browns and throw in a couple draft picks to boot.

This man speaks the truth, listen to him.
I could argue that Tomlin has done less with more than any NFL coach during his time as the Steelers head coach.
I told myself I was going to back off on complaining about Tomlin on the Internet this year, and here I've already started. I'm doomed. I need to take a chill pill.

Stefanski has four quarterbacks. One rookie who did well in one game but immediately got injured. One other rookie who is injured. And two veterans who are injured. And an albatross hanging around his neck who is also injured. If the Browns win two games this season, it's going to be a bit of a miracle, and Stefanski should be coach of the year. A couple draft picks would be good, though. The Browns might screw up both, or maybe they would get lucky and only screw up one pick.

That’s what I’m saying! What would he be able to do if he could play a single, semi-competent QB for an entire season? Has any other coach made it into the playoffs after starting 4 different backup QBs, or whatever it was?

Stefanski is like Dan Campbell. No excuses when an irreplaceable starter goes down. The next guy goes in, and the rest of the team just believes they can win. The standard really is the standard, which is why he doesn’t have to say it.

My twin brother and I were looking at the upcoming games today (Sat. 8/16/2025) and noticed how many are regional, like for us it's the Rams and Chargers. That got us thinking, so we looked up where each team is located, then matched up which team would play against which. This is not about established rivalries, but location more than anything.

Noticed that years ago for preseason but it's far more obvious on the west coast. Except 9ers/Raiders. I know they played today but for a few years there that was for sure not the match up to make. I'm guessing Vegas is less homers and more restrained. I miss Oakland..

Meantime, any chance the Ravens can bench Jackson and go back to Dilfer while Cincy trades away Burrow and resigns Akili Smith as the starter?
We need all four teams starting old men so we can call it the AFC Geriatric. Flacco and Rodgers got it halfway there.

Sanders' injury means he will sit on Sundays this year. That will give him a year to learn and practice. He seems like he will dive right in, not pout. Then maybe next season, the Browns will have two viable candidates to be that QB. I expect Sanders to beat out Gabriel.

The Colts are dumb. Richardson had great physical tools, but was an obvious project (he barely played a full season in college). But instead of taking the time to develop him, they shoved him into the starting role early in his rookie year. Now he's so screwed up they're turning to Daniel Jones.

This is all too common these days. Owners, coaches and fans expect these young men to come out of college ready to start in the NFL. Most aren't. Coaches especially should realize this.

Especially at QB. Geno Smith and Sam Darnold, assuming they keep doing what they did last year, are perfect examples of early failures who eventually figured it out. There are a number of other candidates for that same trajectory rattling around NFL rosters these days. Picking up a failure of a first round draft pick isn't such a bad idea.

What? The Colts are pushing another undeveloped QB to possible/eventual breaking point who this time is not named Luck?

Seemingly, they may have learned nothing from the recent past?

I’ll take “Signs you’ve given up on your season,” for $500.

Naw. That's the right call on Richardson. He's been a hype and injury machine since forever. Don't forget, this is the same joker that took himself out of a game since he needed a break. Lots of physical talent and plenty of chances to prove it on the field, but he couldn't/didn't. There's more to the game than all the physical talent in the world.
Good on the Colts for seeing that and moving on.

I’m not saying they’re wrong about Richardson. Daniel Jones just isn’t the answer to any question that ends with a Super Bowl appearance, unless it’s a joke.

I don't disagree. Same deal in Pittsburgh with Rodgers. He won't even get them to the playoffs. The most hardcore Steeler fans will likely disagree, but common sense is beyond them.
