NFL Week #1

I have never questioned McNabbs tools or physical dominance. If anything I believe it's one of the reasons I don't view McNabb as elite. I look at the fact that physically he was far superior to any of his elite competition, and yet he was always busy shooting Campbell's soup commercials with mom come Super Bowl time. I would cede that he was probably the most physically gifted QB to play the game except Vick or Culpepper. But there is no way I would take him over Brady, Farve, Manning, Warner or Rothesberger. And I believe you could argue McNair was superior.

I don't think he was dumb, or couldn't read defenses, and maybe the Philly Press got to him, but it just seems to me on the big stage he always found a way to lose. And in some cases he lost on teams with superior talent. I do think their were some leadership issues. Manning taking all that extra practice is a great example. How much non-mandatory practice time did McNabb spend in the off season working to make his WR better?

The other thing people forget is that Philly had a darn good O line when he was there. And they could always pencil in LT All Pro Jon Runyan to watch his backside.
