Oakland baby! Oakland!

I should say that beating the Broncos is no huge accomplishment. But I was impressed with Hue Jackson as a coach, and with our personnel overall. I am digging this offensive scheme we've got going.

Run DMC is becoming a true monster at tailback, and not just a bowlegged fast dude anymore!

DHB finally catches a ball, and he lands out of bounds! :rollno:

Did you guys see that nasty blitz pickup that Knowshown Moreno had on one of Oakland's safeties? It was a beauty! It hurt me that I had to rewind it and watch it a few times :ninja:

yeah D Mac was blessed with Hollywood Freddy Mitchell and James Thrash (the first h is silent). I don't think D Mac had Chris Carter and when Chris was here he was all cokey.
If D Mac had the rehabbed Carter and Moss along with his mobility he may've had a ring.

I don't know. I think the elite QB's turn mediocre skill players into stars. I remember the Green Bay Packers had this great WR named Bill Schroder (caught 74 passes with a 15 yard average in 99) who tore up the league with Farve. He wasn't so great when he got to Detroit. In fact balls seemed to fly out of his hands when they came from Harringtons arm.:D

The great elite QB's force defensive coordinators to game plan for them, not the skill players around them. Even the skill players in New England looked pretty mediocre when Brady went down.

Look at the Colts today. Besides Dallas Clarke who are the great skill players on that team? Pierre Garcon? Not bad, not pro bowl. Anthony Gonzales? Reggie Wayne? Solid possession receivers, but I don't see anyone knocking down their doors to add them to a contender. I suspect there are a 100 other guys in the league as good. And the star RB is Joseph Adai, what's the over and under on Adai getting a 1000 yards without Manning calling the signals? Does anyone believe that if McNabb in his prime was to time transport to the Colts today they'd be a playoff team? Well with Manning they were every year.

The Eagles were a perennial playoff contender, if not team, made the superbowl once, and the NFC championship 4-5 times with McNabb at the helm.

Not to mention that Edge, Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, and Dallas Clark are all multi Probowl players that Peyton had on his team with him.

***? Do you even watch pro football? Lions don't count.

Garcon is #3 on the depth chart. Gonzalez is #4 or 5 and is hurt every year, so he really doesn't count.

Edge was a 1st round pick, who had over 2000 total yards his first 2 seasons, and had 1000 yd seasons until 2007 except his injury years. 4 pro bowls

Harrison was another first round pick. 8 time pro bowler. One of the best route runners of our time.

Wayne was another 1st round pick. 5 time pro bowler. Possession receiver? Dude was a deep ball threat earlier in his career when Harrison was the possession receiver. Even with Painter and Collins at the helm, this guys still seems to produce 100 yd games.

Addai was another 1st rounder, 1 pro bowl. Was not a full time ball carrier until his 2nd or 3rd season, and injuries are more his issue than talent.

And lets not forget that Manning had some pro-bowlers on the O-line as well.

If McNabb had these weapons, I'm sure he'd do much better than with Staley, Pinkston, and Brown. If Manning went to PHI with those weapons, he'd be killed. He's not mobile enough, and his weapons are limited. Manning benefitted greatly from having Harrison and Wayne, two great route runners he could count on to be where they were supposed to be. McNabb never had that kind of player.

Over those 5 seasons -

Manning, Brady, Warner, Favre... and I'd have to put Trent Green and Rich Gannon in consideration if we're only looking at those years.

If you look at advanced stats like win probability added, even his best season (2004) only puts him about 5th in the league for that year.

No, but of QBs who played during that time span (given their whole careers) I think there is no question he's much better.

Over that time span he only had one good year (2004) - which just happened to be the same as McNabbs peak year, except it was just a bit better statistically.

Yall really did not see much Philadelphia Eagles football pre 2004 (he carried the team on his shoulders ) , McNabb was such a threat opponents spied him with a linebacker. He kept drives alive with his feet on a team that had the likes of Na Brown, Todd Pinkston, Torrence Smalls, Charles Johnson, Darnell Autry, an aging Dorsey Levans as offensive weapons. Duce Staley ( a decent back )was the only weapon

As a football player his best years were pre T.O./ Westbrook

My love for McNabb turned due to his lack of hustle in the Superbowl, however I can not let my current dislike for him alter the truth.

Rich Gannon ....Huh ?

Drops are considered in the ESPN Total QB Rating system.
