I'd take McNabb 4th, and McNair 5th.
I wouldn't take Culpepper, because he can't do it without a supporting cast.
I would take Brees. Even though he is elite now, he needed a system he could thrive in and a supporting cast to do that. Same with Kurt Warner, seeing how poorly he did in NY without a similar cast.
But Manning, Favre, Brady, McNabb and McNair made the players around them better, and that's what I would look for in building a team.

I'd take Manning, Brady, Favre, Brees, and Warner over McNabb.
I'd probably take McNair over McNabb due to durability.
The only one I'd definitely take after McNabb is Culpepper.
Actually, rushing wise they were pretty similar....
Career-
Rushing yards per game:
McNabb - 21.3
Culpepper - 25.3
Rushing yards per attempt:
McNabb - 5.7
Culpepper - 5.5
Fumbles on the other hand strongly favor McNabb
Fumbles per game:
McNabb - 0.58
Culpepper - 0.97
Wow, they sure do. I just like the complete package for McNabb far more than Culpepper.

Why not add that one of them had Randy Moss and never did anything without him?
Prior to the last couple years, I'd agree... over the last couple years the end of McNabb's career keeps looking more and more like the end of Culpepper's career.
Brees was not even a good QB when Mcnabb was prime. He should not be in this discussion at all.

I am going to give a little more to the Jets than most have as far as the win. When the going got tough they didn't roll over and die. That was a prime example of playing all 4 quarters of the game. You have to be able to keep yourself in a position to capitalize on your opponents mistakes. Womo makes them, but it doesn't matter if you are out of the game.
Addon: I really think that the turning point came when Leonhard hustled up the field and takes Witten out of bounds before making the TD. You see a lot of guys fold when they are in that spot. Leonhard makes a great tackle on a bigger guy and manhandles him out. Don't see that kind of good open field tackling work anymore in the NFL. I also think that became a momentum shift for the game. Leonhard didn't get any real credit, but he sure showed some hustle.

A few things I think McNabb fans are forgetting. One was he had Brian Westbrook, in his prime Brian was one of the best two way (recieving-rushing) backs in the league. As has been mentioned here, he arguably played for the team with the best defense in the league during his prime, and benefitted immensly in field position and the fact that playing from behind just wasn't an option for his opponants.
I think there is one other QB that people are forgetting when looking at QB's for the 2000's. Ben Rothesberger, Ben came in the league in 03 and won two Super Bowls during that period.
My rank would look like this of the McNabb era QB's
1) Brady
2) Manning
3) Farve
4) Rothesberger
5) Warner
6) McNair
7) McNabb
8) Brees (whose moving up fast)
9) Rivers
Perhaps you can interchange him with McNair, but then again, perhaps you can argue Brees or Rivers is superior. McNabb was a very good QB in his prime no doubt. I just never saw him as Elite in any season.

I'm only focusing on 2000-2004 since we all seem to at least agree that was McNabb's best years. Ben wasn't around then, and Brees didn't really make an impact until 2004. Maybe you guys have been focusing on McNabb for his entire career, when I would have a hard time keeping him a solid top five from the start until now. But from 2000-2004, he is easy top five for me.

QB rating is football's ERA, it is so untelling it's stupid without backstory.
And now you guys are saying Mcnabb isn't elite because he benifited from a good D. Then you post Tom Brady, eerily similar in situation to Mcnabb, as a top 2 QB.
