NFL Week 11

Their offense gets better every week, though. They said it several times during the broadcast - Orton is looking more like a five year vet than a rookie. And he really is looking that good. His offensive line is doing a great job, and he's playing with a lot of confidence.
The running game is pretty solid. Seems like they either get stuffed for no yards or break out for 10, though. If their receivers can keep up with Orton (which, if that were the case this week, the score would have been more of a blowout), the offense will be solid enough to win big games.

- Muhammad dropped a pass that would have been a long gainer when the Bears were at midfield.
The receivers cost the Bears at least 13 points.

How about a team whose inexperienced QB passed for 2800 yards and 18 TDs, and had a retread RB? Answer - New England Patriots 2001 Superbowl champs. Tom Brady was a first year starter, and Antowain Smith, a castoff from the Bills was the RB.
Or how about a team whose QB only passed for 1500 yards, and 12TDs, and a rookie rusher that only had 6 TDs? Answer - Baltimore Ravens 2000 superbowl champs. Trent Dilfer was the QB, and it was Jamal Lewis' rookie year.
So considering the above teams, how much different are the Bears? Thomas Jones is on a pace to match what the RBs above did, and Orton has almost reached Dilfer's stats already.
Bears a Superbowl team? I have my doubts, but from what I've seen this season I do have my hopes too.
I was waiting for the Ravens comparison. It is indeed valid, but it certainly doesn't happen often, that a team like that goes far into the post season. I'm certainly admitting the Bores appear to be for real. If this turns out NOT to be the case, I'll of course celebrate all the dashed hopes of the Bores fans, but if it DOES turn out to be the case, there is at least consolation in the fact it ain't the purple porno pirates.

Now Jive, c'mon. One win by the fairies over a team with a winning record and you get all superbowly on us. I might be convinced in 3 or 4 games assuming fairies go on a 4-0 run. That pansy-ass 3rd or 4th place NFC North schedule is finally getting some teeth and you have to face Steelers, Bucs and Falcons and of course the mighty ironman Favre. One solid win does not a superbowl make.

Till this season that was true. Farve has looked UGLY thus far... about as ugly as Orton looked in his first few games. Now THAT is ugly. I must also say this year will be one of the first years in a LONG time that I'm actually looking forward to the Bears-Packers game because I can finally expect a win.

How bout the Gints? Their only "good" win was against DEN. Other wins were against the hapless Cards, Aints, 9ers, and the wingless Eagles. But that doesn't stop the media and the mobs from calling them "elite" or "contenders". I wouldn't call the Cowpokes "elite" either, even though they have beaten better teams.
The dirty south? The Bucs have only beaten 1 team with a winning record. The Panthers only 2, and Atlanta none.
The NFC has no real dominant team, so Bears winning the NFC isn't out of the question. Nothing I've seen from the "favorites of experts" in the NFC makes them dominant. It's anyone's division. Anyone includes the Bears.
Yup I've been drinking the Kool-Aid, and it's quite good!

Everybody always talks about who the Bears have played. What would they say if they lost to the teams they play. At the end of the season it is all about wins and losses. It doesn't matter how much you won by it is if you win or not. If you win every game this season by 20 or 1 you still end up 16-0. And for those who talk about the Bears O, you only need 17 points if your D is only giving up 11!!!!!! 
I just want the Bears to beat the Pack at Soldier Field. Favre has owned us at home and I want to send him out on a good note.

The other point is that "Ironman" doesn't refer to game performance, but rather ability to stay healthy and consecutive games started. I don't think there's any active player even close to his number of consecutive games Favre has started. The bears have started something like 16 QBs since Favre took over for the Pack? Maybe it's more.
I wouldn't automatically give the Bears a win. Our D has risen from pathetic to 10th in the league. Our O-line has been playing much better as a unit and will perform heads n shoulders above Carolina's. I don't think it's going to be the slam dunk you think.
I always said, on any given Sunday, any NFC Norris team can beat the other. I've seen it happen too many times in 35-odd years of watching Packer games.
