NFL Week #11

What was so dirty about the Lions today, besides their lack of offensive execution? Fairley could have crushed Rogers on that one sack and let him down easy, I haven't seen too many line man on any team do that in this league.

Steve...there was nothing I saw dirty today. You know how I like to yank you Lions fan's chains!

But Pats fans--booing Vinatieri seven years after he left, really? Just because he had the temerity to leave on his own rather than waiting to get unceremoniously kicked to the curb by Belichick like so many other former Pats?

I agree that booing is lame and I wouldn't have done so if I was at the game. I did hear one side of the "Booing Argument" - it is a sign of respect for the player who once was cherished by the home team. Not sure I agree, but it sounds humorous- you don't hear insignificant players booed when they return to their former fans.

FWIW- Adam said after the game that he was fine with it and had no problem. Always a class act that Vinatieri. On the other hand, Tom Brady was very upset to see and hear Adam booed.

Good Pats win, bummed to lose Gronkowski for a while....

I'm torn on Leftwich, I admire the courage and toughness to play through pain, but I think it may have hurt the team Sunday night. It was obvious on a couple throws something was wrong with him physically. When an injury limits your ability to play as much as it appeared to with him, it's time to step aside and let someone else play.

Same here. Only thing is, by the time it became obvious that Leftwich was having some problems, it was pretty late in the game and it probably would have disrupted the offensive rhythm to throw a cold Charlie Batch in there to finish it

Too late? He got up wincing in pain after the TD run. That was the third play of the game, about a minute in. Between the bomb to Wallace that got the PI call and the run, I think he pulled a muscle somewhere. Baltimore noticed, and proceeded to pound him the rest of the night. He took some brutal hits, which is to be expected from the Ravens. They bring it physically.

I'm not complaining about the Ravens style of play. I like physical defensive football.

I didn't see that...I saw him walking like an old playa back to the huddle at some point in the 4th quarter. I thought that was when it started

I don't think I've ever seen him look healthy when playing. Even back in college, my only memory of him is being so banged up that his team had to carry him downfield after a long completion. Sure, he gets points for toughness, but for all the toughness points he got, the Steelers only managed 10 last night, with 7 of those coming on a great but pretty flukey play after a 40 yard interference call.

If only his body were as hardy as his mind is, he'd be a great player!

He had a couple of good years in Jacksonville, but like you said he's always been a walking outpatient. That and his sssslslllllooooowww throwing motion
