Driving into work this morning and listening to Dan Patrick, I was surprised they were even talking about it. Showboating?? Really???? I mean, I'm sure he was enjoying the spotlight, but it seemed pretty obvious to me he wanted to make sure he ran out the clock before going in

I recall my Brother-In-Law saying the Packers outta put Matt Flynn in as QB a couple years back when Brent charade was coming down. He watched him grow up and play football down in Tyler, Texas and said the boy was a dandy player.

The MVP is supposed to go to the guy that literally makes his team what it is. That without him, they are practically nothing. Combine that with stats and wins and that is the MVP.

Now, there are lots of guys that could qualify, Even Rodgers, as you could see what happened with Flynn not having the experience to just know what to do at the end there. Vick certainly is also deserving as the Eagles would be nothing without him.

I dunno.. not to take anything away from the lad cuz he's been dynamite this season but there was at one point a QB "controversy" in philly, earlier in the season when Kolb was playing really well. I think Philly wouldn't be as worse off without vick as the Pats would be without Brady, at least in relation to how those teams are doing right now.

I think Philly wouldn't be as worse off without vick as the Pats would be without Brady, at least in relation to how those teams are doing right now.

can kolb move like vick? for that matter, can any other qb in the nfl do what vick can both do in running AND throwing? the answer is obvious.

frankly, if vick was showing this brillance in OTA's, two a day's, and the preseason, he'd been the starter since day one.

but when his number was finally called, kudos to the puppy killer for showing up, and making everyone remember what he was, and what he's now become.

was only a qb controversy, cause no one wants to bench anyone that's capable like kolb. but if you're gonna be benched, you might as well be benched by a freakin' freak of nature. so, on the flipside, bigger kudos to an all but invisible kolb for realizing how special vick has become, and once he's traded for more draft picks, he'd make any team happy.

Kolb was doing okay...I feel like "really well" is a stretch. He had two outstanding games against Atlanta and the 49ers (but who hasn't?), but he was mediocre against Washington and atrocious against Tennessee. Maybe Philly doesn't need Vick as much as the Pats need Brady, but without him, I don't think Philly is a playoff caliber team.

As much as I can't stand the Eagles, I have to acknowledge that Vick is their type of QB, much more so than Kolb. Any time the Eagles have been successful there has always been a scrambling QB with a strong arm (Cunningham, McNabb, etc), and Vick is the new generation of that style.

The only thing wrong with that kind of system is that when the scrambling QB is shut down the teams basically stink. Look at the first 52 minutes last week as the example. The great thing about a scrambling QB is that when he is on his game the Eagles are nearly unstoppable (obviously, the final 8 minutes last week).

Not discounting the Giants incredible collapse in that game, which contributed greatly to the W by Philly, but even the biggest Eagle hater has to appreciate the amazing skills this guy has. He out ran a blitzing safety .... I don't think there is another QB in the league that can do that.

They deserved it. Two wins and Pack are in with a wildcard. Makes the Pack Bears game veddy veddy intelesting as Heny Gibson would say.

I have no idea why MN wanted the game played at a venue with gave the advantage to the bears. Why not Ford field? For a team that's built on turf?? The only reason was $$. I'm sure the season ticket holders (how ever many are left) wanted to be able to stay in Mpls to watch the game. but looked like a lot of 'em stayed home anyway. Not a well run organization. Things go from bad to worse next year when their "savior" Brent goes back to the river, they lose their 3rd round pick (Moss), and their payroll continues to skyrocket with the likes of Allen and the Williams'. And people trash Ted Thompson??? We're loaded for Bear next year. Bank on it.

As a resident of Minnesota, I think that a BIG driver behind not moving the game was the Vikings 50th anniversary celebration. There was a really big deal here around honoring the "50 Greatest Vikings" and I believe that if they'd moved the game, it would have been way more difficult to keep those plans in place.

The stands looked full to me last night. I thought back to all the people here who bash on the Vikings fans as being front runners, yet they had the joint pretty full for being out in freezing weather and no chance of the playoffs.

I'll cut people some slack because of the weather. Outside of Green Bay and maybe Pittsburgh, I don't know any outdoor stadium that would be sold out in those conditions for an NFL team. Maybe Chicago? Seattle wouldn't. I could see Patriot fans staying home too.

I think Shady had a vacation day Sunday, I don't remember hearing his name once. You also have to like Akers kicking style. It's funny how much people here in NY hate the Eagles, and how much the Philly people hate the Giants . It's one of the really great rivalries in the NFL ....
