NFL Week 17

I enjoyed watching the Panthers struggle against the Saints SECOND team - yeah, they won by 10, but against a bunch of benchwarmers.

What I REALLY liked watching were these two games:

Detroit beating the Cowgirls. Why, because any day the Cowpatties lose is a good day.

Green Bay (ugh, I hate to have to enjoy a Fav-ray win) beating the Bears, cuz after watching the Chicago offense, I'm feeling really good about my Saints.

Come SB time, both our teams will be watching the game on TV...and both possibly looking for another QB. At least we had a QB, and lots of division crowns and playoffs for the last 16 years. It was fun while it lasted.

How long is the Bear's run going to last...and who will they bring in next year at QB? :D

So, what is Brett's next gig, selling Johnsonville Brats?

Agreed, the QB slot in Chicago is wide open. I think the line
of QB's who would like to go play in Soldier Field starts in
Oshkosh somewhere. ;)

Oh, it wasn't directed at you necessarily...;)

Brett's next gig will probably be for John Deere tractors.

We will soon now how you guys feel not having a QB. I don't know (and no one else does either really) if Rodgers has what it takes.

Between the Brats, Deere, Harley, Land's End and every
car dealer in the state, Brett is gonna have a 30+ year run
just hawking stuff. Probably will make more than getting beat
up on the field.

I really think he dosen't have anything more to prove at this
point. "Gotta know when to fold'em". It won't be long before
the HOF nomination comes, I am sure.

The Bears let the Packers win that one so they can let Favre retire on a good note. Get him all sentimental and stuff, and we can finally have his arse out of the league.

Bears were resting folks on D. And the Bears played generic D all game so that opposing teams won't have as much film on them. It's basically a preseason game for the Bears.

Grossman sucked, and 14 of the Packers points came directly from INTs he threw. Rayner's 2nd field goal came due to an INT by Grossman. So that's 16 points, which mean that 9 points were given up by the D, mostly the 2nd team.
Griese isn't really the answer either. He threw two picks in garbage time. He still needs to get in sync with the offense.

It's anybody's playoff race. The Bears still have a solid D, and O that works when it clicks, and a great special teams. I can't say the same for all the other playoff contenders in the NFC.

Yeah, right. All this time and no posting...and that's the best you could come up with?

The Bears have a solid D, but not outstanding enough to compensate for lack of a QB.

My guess is, their most accurate QB will be working with the first string at practice. What's your punter's name again?

oh wait, the packers d won the game by being responsible for 16 points? huh...

if i'm not mistaken, the 10 points the offense provided (seven of which came on the first drive) was still enough to win the game when you look at the final score... please correct me if i'm wrong :smug: :p

It's called rationalizing. Rather than focus on their real problem, they want to put the focus elsewhere...you know, the game was meaningless, and they are going to wait until the games count again before they actually play like a playoff team.

The Packers just plain beat Chicago on their own field. Don't think Smith wanted to win that meaningless game? Yeah, that's why he kept his starters in for three quarters. That's why he tried a fake punt and used his best QB on that play. Yeah, he wasn't trying to win at all. :rolleyes:

btw, here's a little something for the bears fans to chew on. i just recently moved to nyc. before that i lived nearly 9 years in chicago. i watched the first game of the season, the packers-bears game at lambeau, in a bar with a few friends (a saints fan, a bears fan, and a bills fan)... surrounded in a sea of navy-orange.

obviously, the game didn't go well for my packers that day... and given my packers shirt, i was taking a lot of $#!% from some people... fine, goes with the territory. i definitely understand. but here's what i posted here after the game.

Do they demote teams to the semipro leagues for a little while or something for sucking so much? I'm asking you Bears fans because, well, you've been in the cellar so much over the past decade... Lions fans feel free to chime in, too. Is there a depressed smiley? Like hard to get out of bed smiley? The Bears played a pretty close to mistake free football game, gotta give them credit for making good on their opportunities, that's how the game is won...

listen, bears fans, you lost... just suck it up and stop making excuses. looking for reasons, that's a whole other thing, but there was a better team sunday night and that team was in green and gold.

I know one thing. It was 23-0 at halftime against the Bears starters.
