That says it all. They shouldn't put there hopes in another team winning or losing to get a playoff spot but actually play great football and earn it. Too bad Browns fans.

NFL Week 17

I know I'm biased, but I vote Mike McCarthy. He took the youngest team in the league and positioned them where no one, not one major sports writer or journalist, predicted or even thought they'd be. 13 wins is most ever by a Packers team.
Bellichek is the proven better coach over time. We all expected New England to be where they are. Maybe not 16-0, but certainly contending for a Superbowl. Plus, at least this year, there's some tarnishment in that he admitted to being a cheater and took his lumps for that.
The same cannot be said for McCarthy. He came out of nowhere and took an improving young team and a proven QB and made them better, more consistent, and into contenders.
I'd probably rank them like this:
McCarthy
Bellichek
Crenell
Phillips
Dungy
Del Rio

I'm a fan of the Browns, and agree they should have won last week, and the choke still stings. I will say they played every game the best they could, and got NONE of them handed to them like Tenn did last night. There was to be a few seconds left on the clock after downing the ball 4 times giving Indy one shot at a long ball for the win. They didn't even take it. Browns got ripped off, as did Indy fans. Just going through the motions to get the game over with. That's not football.
I've always kind of admired Dungy, but I even as much as I hate the patriots.....Indy can't lose fast enough.
Oh well.....GO PACK GO!
And for the record, all of the top cedes **** the bed yesterday. It looks to me like the Cowpies peaked too soon, and are among the over rated. Romo lost his mojo, and his confidence to go with it, and it couldn't have happened at a better time.

That is football and it has been that way for years. As a Colts fan, the last game of the season means diddly squat to me if they have already secured a great spot. The Colts played great all year and got a great spot so they didn't have to attempt to pray their way in. They are reaping the benefits of their season play which meant the last game was nothing more than a formality to them. Now they can rest their players for the game that actually matters in two weeks. Colts fans cheated? Not in the least!

If you really admired Dungy then you could respect what he did and take it like a man. If your team was in the same position as the Colts you wouldn't have had any problem with them "mailing it in". The Browns played some pretty good football this year and if they get a D for next season they could be real contenders. However, their best just wasn't good enough this year. Take pride in what they built and look forward to next season as things are looking up in Cleveland.

I don't blame them for resting up their big guns for the big game. I was bummed, but didn't really get too bent until they didn't even bother to take a last shot at a win with time on the clock.Sure it meant nothing to them, but I like most fans don't want to watch an exhibition game. This almost gives some validity to the coaches and AP polls, as it eliminates stuff like this.
Agreed, but they should have at least showed up to try to win.

Yep, for sure. Although very unlikely, how sweet would it be to see the rematch in a few weeks to have TN beat their arses heads up? I'll laugh all the way to the bank.

Actually, I've become quite a bit of a Packers fan this year as well. They kicked the crap out of the Lions, and I'd have expected as much.

Yep! If they end up rolling over and not caring a bit in years to come, you will hear me call foul again. I watch football to see a game, imagine that concept.
Few things are a certainty in life. One of them would be Browns fans looking forward to next season as the NFL playoffs start!

It isn't the Colts job to get the Browns in the playoffs. Laying an egg against Cincy kept them out of it, not the Colts phoning it in.
Tennessee is a really physical team, almost to the point of being a little dirty and they play the Colts tough. Vanden Bosch and Hansworth could probably get flagged for late hits just about every play.
Nothing was at stake, why should an injury-riddled team play a meaningless game and possibly get a starter hurt. If I was the coach you would have seen Tennessee vs. the Colts practice squad the entire game. It should be painfully obvious to anyone who watched that game that Sorgi can't hold Peyton's jock. He is decent and cheap, two great qualities for a backup, but a future star he is not.

+1 to your entire post but especially this part. Sorgi is a lousy backup IMO. I haven't ever seen him play good except when he is doing kneel downs. We could have beaten the Titans if we had had a decent backup. He over threw several wide open guys in the 4th qtr as if he was scared.
Please Polian and Dungy, get us someone decent just in case Peyton does go down in a game! PLEASE!!!

Mr. Belichick certainly was selected as coach of the year and deservidely so.
Mr. McCarthy did an outstanding job with the Packers this year and certainly was worthy of consideration. He did get 15votes.
Yea, I think there was. I think it was a two-horse race. Can't argue with 16-0. Also can't argue having the youngest team in the NFL with only one superstar and taking them from 8-8 to 13-3, much to everyone's surprise. I won't repeat my post up above, but you can certainly argue Bellichick is expected to win, McCarthy wasn't, making the job McCarthy did, nearly as impressive IMO.
You'll get no argument from me on that. I've been very impressed with the way the Packers have played all season. I would love to see a rematch between the Packers and the Patriots. of course, I would be routing for the home team in that one.

The only reason it wouldn't be fun for me is there doesn't seem any way in hell anyone's going to beat NE. But then again, if Favre got to one more superbowl, regardless of outcome, he'd probably retire and as much as I hate the thought of that, I think it's time. Time for Rogers to have his shot.
