what?! how can you be a fan of both? next you'll be telling me you like the yankees AND the red sox :scowl:
well.. first off that's a little optimistic concidering the pat's regular season play. secondly that's not even really true anymore, sure at the beginning of the last decade we had mannings number, but recently he's beaten us everytime (except in the 16-0 season).
also, (and this isn't directed at you personally jimmy.. more generally, cuz you hear it alot) i hate it when people talk about two quarterbacks facing each other like they're on the field at the same time. it's stupid. brady hasn't had manning's number.. bill belichick's had manning's number. the only possible way that two opposing quarterbacks can affect each other is by sustaining long drives and keeping the other off the field, and even then that's only a minor effect at best.
There are several ways to repond to that though. Here are a couple:
a) In today's game, it's all about the long ball, so really it is more about QB vs QB than O vs D. In shotput and javelins and other competitive sports such as in the olympics, a LOT of athletes are competing against one another without beign on the field at the same time.
b) QB vs QB is a way of talking about the teams based on their 'faces', in this case, Manning for the Clots and Brady for the Patsies. Using them when referrign to the teams they lead is no different from the naval tradition to using a ship name to refer to the captain of said ship.
Just a couple that pop to mind.
