You know what else was lame.. friggin Reed missing field goals.
I also didnt like how Batch was overthrowing every receiver.

D regressed again. Arm tackling isn't going to get it done.

Offense did all it could, but could overcome the D's shortcomings.

Add to that Scobee having a career day and add one in the loss column.

I'd really like to see some shakeup in the defense. Either in personnel or scheme wise. Maybe a fresh face or idea, because the old folks and plans aren't working all that well.

Mike Tomlin is such a piece of trash! Charlie Batch has stepped up and played as well as well as he has, and I just saw an interview with Tomlin with this cocky laugh when asked about Ben returning. God forbid he give any props to Batch for playing fantastic football. I hope Roethlisberger TANKS horrible!!!!

Sorry, but the Steelers started their death when that dirtbag was hired as head coach.

San Francisco @ Atlanta - Atlanta got the W against my boys last week. That's as good as they get. SF is either going to quit on Singletary or they're going to come out angry and take it out on the Falcons. Tough to know...so I will go with my gut feeling. SF 24 ATL 21



Carolina @ New Orleans - Wow. This will be ugly. Really, really ugly. Carolina can't find their butts with both hands, and NO is ANGRY about letting a game get away.

They didn't show the game down here, but I saw the lowlights. Looked like the Steelers played a pretty good game all-in-all. But we folded like a cheap suit on Baltimore's last drive. A shame, really. The defense kept it close all day, then BOOM! The Ravens just march right down the field to win it. I had a real bad feeling when they couldn't get a first down (that would have sealed the win) after stopping the Ravens on 4th & goal.

Too many penalties though for sure. Reed missed two field goals, but in fairness, they weren't chip shots. If I recall, one was 49 yards and one was 44 or 45. Doable, yes; but that field is not kind to kickers.

the drive that matters was the one before that. the d shut them down on the 2 yard line. pitt got the ball (and was winning) on the 2 with about 2 mins left and ended up punting from inside the red zone after 2 penalties and 4 anemic downs.

then baltimore came back in about 20 seconds and won. was ridiculous - pitt's d owned that game. all they needed was one productive down on their last possession and they could have killed the clock. in fact, just not having the penalties would have probably worked.

after such an great game by the d, it's a shame that the offensive line lost it - even charlie was doing a good job with what he was being given, considering he's supposedly 4th string.

Yeah, and what makes it even worse is that everybody is now hailing this as Flacco's "Coming of Age" moment, which will now give him new-found confidence because it's now "his team". At least on offense. As long as Ray Lewis is around, the Ravens will always be his team.

It also didn't help to get a penalty on the punt from the end zone. 10 more free yards to start the final drive... :rollno:

Say what you will, but when the Saints offense decides to get healthy (you do realize that two starters were off the field, and Brees was playing in a brace?), and they get all the starters on defense out of street clothes (3 starters were inactive), things are going to be somewhat different.

Your Falcons got a lucky break 2 weeks a go (our FPK misses a 29 yard field goal?), and if a certain 49er's cornerback had the sense to FALL DOWN after pickin' Matty Iced off, you lose yesterday as well.

Neither the Saints nor the Falcons are all that impressive so far, but there is far more potential in NOLA than there is in ATL. Eventually, that Saints offense will get wound up, do you think there is ANY defense in the NFL that wants to be across the line of scrimmage when that happens? Not "if", but "when", because it will.

Yeah, that was nuts...I think it was partly the O-line being overmatched (the Giants have a bunch of BEASTS for their front 4) and in the first half partly Jay Cutler going all "Jay Cutler" - too much swinging for the fences, not enough ground balls - there were plenty of underneath routes that appeared open, but he kept holding the ball for the deep routes and then getting smacked around like a pinball. That cost him right before halftime....the second half doesn't even count, IMO....

The NFC East better get nervous, the Giants appear to have woken up....

You can't hold the ball as long as Cutler did and not expect to get spanked. The Giants secondary did a decent job last night and Cutler looked-off (or didn't look at all) a lot of the short tosses. Once the Giants D saw him looking for the longer ball they just unloaded on him ....

I thought the Bears O line was better, but they sure didn't look it last night. Plus, Cutler had the ball so long that the Giants were coming at him from the outside and had the time to get to him ...

I beg to differ sir. A 17-3 win in a game their defense dominated with 10 sacks:eyebrow:

Their D woke up, but Manning and the offense did nothing behind it.

Majority of the game was played at 3-0. AND Cutler didn't play the second half.

IMO the entire NFC East is playing poorly (including my guys).

Though the Giants got the W, I'd hardly call that a wake up game.
