Man, I hope you're right. Even early in the season, this is a big game. I guess it all depends on which Ravens offense shows up. They can look awesome, or they can look shaky. Their defense is always tough.
Uncharacteristically, The Steelers didn't do very well in their Division last year; so I'm hoping they do better this year. Lost twice to the Bengals last year; once to the friggin' Browns; and I'm not sure if they split with the Ravens. But these Divisional games are huge.
Ya it was a split with the Ravens.
Tough stretch last season losing 5 games in a row to the Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Chiefs, and Raiders.
the Browns after a noble loss to Baltimore, suffer an ignoble loss to Cinci 27-10. Screams abound here in cleveland for the immediate execution and burning of the corpse of Eric Mangini.

I agree with you Jeff on the Ravens. We really need to win this game and stay atop the AFC North. The way the defense has been playing, I am pretty sure they will have no trouble shutting down the Ravens offense.
But hey, Rice and Boldin could break free and go buck wild on us. It will be a good game, and since it is at home, we have the Renegade factor in our favor.

Ravens v. Steelers is an important game. I live in "Bawlmer", but am originally from Chicago, and retain my allegiance to the 3-0 Bears...who will beat the Giants 21 - 17.

I really hope youn'z let Holmgren alone to do his job. He'll make you a winner.

I agree that the Bears will win (barring a letdown, which is a key consideration) but I think the margin of victory will be more than 4 points. I see something closer to 24-14 or maybe 27-17.

last year they floundered because they didn't have troy. he's an obvious leader for the d, at least to me, and really keeps em all tight. i don't see the same kind of leadership with ben, tbh, and i'd rather have troy without ben than have ben without troy.
of course having both of em is just thumpin'.
. they keep playing like they are when ben gets back, and i might have to get a special 7-burg custom 7 string made .that being said, the ravens are going to be tricky. they always seem to be.

sometimes I sit here and read all the comments about the Brownies that so-called fans write in (not here on TB, here as in local media), and just can't bleieve my eyes. "Fire Mangini." "Fire Holmgren for not firing Mangini." ectcetera.
Don't they get it? We don't have enough blue chippers to be competitive. give us a few more decent drafts, and a few more decent FA acquisitions, and we'll be competitive.

Yep, I know what you mean. Holmgren will find himself a QB, maybe it's McCoy. Holmgren was a huge fan of Seneca Wallace when he was in Seattle, so it does not surprise me to see him starting for you guys.
What do you guys think of McCoy so far? I know he hasn't shown much, but are you guys feeling like he is the next star QB under Holmgrens guidance?

Oooh. Tough question. I'm not sure. He came out of a spread system, and I don't think he's got that strong of an arm. (His passes seem to wobble a bit too much for my tastes, even the short ones.)
I think he can be a good NFL QB, because he's a smart kid with decent wheels to add that aspect.
My big concern is: are the Browns going to fall in love with one of the QBs coming out this year (Locker, Mallett, Luck) and not give him a legit shot.
