Broncos Pats. The league standard test of worthiness. Especially interesting because of the McDaniels relationship. He still dresses lke Bill. When he first came to Denver and started throwing his weight around, we called him a know-it-all. At 4-0, we're now wondering if it's true.
They should be 4-0 with the teams they have played. Lets see how the next 4 go. If they go 3-1 or even 2-2 then i will be impressed. I'm guessing they will go 1-4, possibly 0-4.
Yeah, it must be the schedule. No real talent, no dominant defense, etc.
With all the rebuilding and mediocrity in the league this year, I think you could make the same statement about almost every team with a winning record. So what?
That's a bold statement. Are you including Pittsburgh and San Diego? Two teams playing uneven and inconsistent football?
I think you're still buzzed from the preseason shake up Kool-aid. We're four games in, and you're starting to see true colors now.
Denver is 5 wins away from a playoff birth. We were just hoping they wouldn't be at the bottom of the AFC West this year. I'll take 9-7 or 10-6, no problem.
I'm not saying i'm right, just sharing my opinion. After week 9 we'll see where they are. i'm just i'm not convinced yet.

Steelers at Detroit. Pittsburgh has been inconsistent recently, but nowhere near THAT inconsistent! I'm picking an easy 27-10 Pittsburgh victory.
Yeah, this will be like a scrimmage. Will be good to see Foote again. We'll see if Mendenhall can follow up that big performance.

With Matt Stafford out, who will go at QB for Detroit? Stafford is gonna do well in this league, but at this point, a veteran might actually do a better job of dealing with Dick Lebeau's blitz packages.
Probably will be Culpepper, he's got the most experience, and while he's probably not as mobile as he once was, he's still a big dude, which will help some...

It's interesting being here in SF and watching the Whiners play. It's quite clear how the mentality brought in by their coach has been introjected by the team. There is a real grit and determination they are playing with. Similarly, in Dallas, they are playing without such grit or determination, a trait introjected from their own coach I believe. Without a strong coach to filter out the nonsense and noise from outside, I'm afraid that the team is playing with a tightness and degree of doubt. There is no great confidence there. The coach cannot bring the team together as a coherent whole that is determined not to lose games. The offensive coordinator does not organize effective game plans and has trouble utilizing the most effective weapons on the team. Romo is playing tight, instead of lose and confident. I do seriously wonder if the outside influence isn't causing him to doubt himself. I have full faith in and love for Romo, I believe he is a stellar QB who is in an incredibly difficult environment without a coach to create the positive environment in which the player can excel. The RB committee is exceptional and playing very well. The WRs, I believe, are more than adequate. The defense has some very good players that are not coming together, something else that may be attributed to the coaching.
The Giants are an interesting counterpoint. They are built in a way similar to the Cowboys, yet they are coming together.
Good win for the aints. Unlike you TURD, I'm not filled with delusional envy and hate for other squads, so I'm happy to see your team playing well. It's impressive and fun football. The Jets defense looks very good. Nice that the aints got a win against them.
You need to get that "S" fixed, the "aints" haven't played since the 70's. Y'know back when Dallas actually had a classy good football team.
Otherwise, I agree with MOST of your assessment of your team. Coaching is indeed the issue, and that is induced by the owner, IMO. Until the brain-trust gets right, there will be big trouble in Big D. Oh, and I think you're delusional about Romo, he'll never live up to the hype - he is NO Staubach or Aikman, and he never will be.

You are correct sir, he is not Staubach or Aikman. I'm not sure who is though. It's tough how everything becomes relative. Favre is praised around the league, but he only won one SB. So, for him, because of his personality and flair, one was enough. One is generally enough, most people are okay with that. Most people will take that. The bar is apparently set higher in Dallas. I mean, look at Aikman. Aikman won 3 SBs. So, is Romo the equal to Aikman? Of course not. It's so crazy that that is the bar. And I do believe that Romo may be affected by the standard seeping into the organization through the media, the fans, and every former Cowboys great. How crazy is that? Without a strong coaching system to help filter the nonsense, (I mean, hell, look at McDaniels in Denver), Romo may be pressing to try and match the demands of the fans and media, when he shouldn't really care. Say what you want about him, but I believe him to be a dynamic and strong QB who can lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl. He's not Aikman, but who is?
I can also see now your excitement over the aints. (Nope, sorry, that one letter sticks). The only good player you have to compare to is Archie, and he never won anything. So for you, you go apepoopie when the aints win more than 8 games a year. Let me tell you, as a fan it's rough having the higher standard.

Good points......... No doubt that Romo hasn't lived up to the hype. Of course, Staubach and Aikman weren't Super Bowl winners in year 3 either. To fans of the NFL and fans of logic, the jury is still out on Romo.
Romo has a problem that not many QB's face. He's in a town where he is compared to 2 guys that have FIVE rings between them. The burdens of expectations........
It's like the pressure Drew Brees feels having to live up to the memory of legendary Saints like............
