When they went against a team on par with them they lost. Beating a hapless San Francisco and equally lulz worthy Carolina by 3 and 2 points, with the latter being in their own house has to be grounds for eyebrow raises.

You raise your eyebrows all you like Tampa fan...whatever helps you sleep at night, realizing your team has to play them twice....maybe they'll only bring their "C" game to Tampa in a few weeks, and only win by a FG....but it'll still be a win...more likely, it'll resemble the first time they played last year, the Saints will bring their "A" game, and make your Yucs look even worse than the Steelers just did...either way, you can't really think the Yucs have a prayer this year. Or next. Or the next....and so on, until the Glazers get bored and find a new hobby....

yeah, and the steelers were one productive down (let alone missed scores) away from 4-0 with their 4th string qb. doesn't change anything.

thing is, aints should be brutalizing the teams they've played and they... aint.

they are -hardly- smacktalkworthy this year, at least not yet.

funny thing about getting a lombardi. it doesn't matter squat next season.

And yeah JT, I know...they got work to do, but even stinkin' up the joint they're winning...and in the end, that's all that matters. Just like the Steelers this year, the only team they blew out was the Yucs...and we all know that wasn't anything to get excited about...

That story has been circling the bowl since July...non-issue, IMO...mainly because anyone that really knows anything about FAR-VUH knows he WAS a great football player but a douchebag of a human being. He's still a douchebag.

6 INT's, 2 TD's is more than enough evidence on the "was" part.

I don't care for the Jests, but I'm going to love watching them b!7c4-slap FAR-VUH and the Whinequeens into a 1-3 record Monday night...

[DEL]I don't know why you're so hell bent on making me out to be some kind of "TAMPA FURST LULZ WE WON 2 GAMES WE'RE GONNA DOMINATE THE ENTIRE NFL AND GET A TROPHY HURR DURR" fan instead of some one who likes to watch good football, and knows what good football is first and foremost, and is a bucs fan second. Right now, your Saints, who are the Lombardi trophy winners, as you're so keen to point out every 30 seconds like a little kid who just went pee pee by himself for the first time, are not playing like super bowl champs. A few plays go the other way, and they're easy 2-2 or even 1-3. Now they're not, because they keep finding ways to win like good teams do, but if (and I know this is an impossibility) you take off your coke bottle homer glasses and look at what's been happening with your team, you'd see they're in trouble and need to figure out how to start whooping up on these teams like they should be.[/DEL]

Oh wait lol what am I talking about? This is Gard, and these are the Saints, nothing anyone says is going to enter through one of his ears and actually stay in between them; and I think he's actually proud of that some times.

the saints have beaten 3 teams with a current combined record of (as of right now) 1-7 (not counting their losses to the saints), and they beat each by 5 points or less.

the steelers have beaten 3 teams with a current combined record of (as of right now) 7-1 (not counting their losses to the steelers) by 6 points or more. with their 4th string qb.

that's a pretty massive difference. of course, when the saints and steelers play in a few weeks, we'll see exactly where things stand - should be a good game.

regardless, i don't think the saints (even ignoring their history/"legacy" of institutionalized fail and let down :D ) are worth anything but guarded optimism right now. but that's just me - i don't really have too big of a horse in this race. :) the nfc isn't my bag, never really was. i'll be glad for the falcons when they win, but won't be any skin off my nose if they don't, and often have had more fun watching them flounder around in the past.

as for the steelers blowing out the buccaneers not being worth much, i gotta disagree. any massive offensive blowout in the nfl with a 4th stringer behind the wheel most definitely is something to get excited about, especially one against a team that has, and has maintained, a winning record. not only does it show that batch still has a little something remaining to draw on, but, more importantly, it shows that the team as a whole has a cohesive, focused mindset and the drive to win regardless of handicaps. these guys could have allowed themselves to be totally fishboned with all the lame-o "ben show" crap that's gone on the past months, but they didn't let it happen. even the ravens game - the d in particular played postseason ball in early season game 4. outstanding mentality on that team.

think of it this way - imagine another team with a qb from the first round of the draft class of 2004 (giants w/manning) and imagine how they'd do without him for 4 games against winning teams.

just some random thoughts.

Indy gutted one out while Cincy managed to steal defeat from the jaws of victory... again. Somebody perform the Heimlich maneuver on those guys, willya? I think they've got a chicken bone caught in there. Punishing running game, decent defense, absolute bumbling passing game. If this continues, they should change Palmer's first name to "Keystone".

The Saints stunk up the joint again. Wassupwiddat?

Titans smacked the boys. Good game, and I love seeing JJ get foiled again. The egodome had a lot of booing going on, and it wasn't for Vince Young. :D

Good on the Lions for getting the W. They deserve it.

it's always good to see the cowpatties lose, especially when it's in a large part because they're acting like the idiots that everyone knows them to be. shame about the saints, though. they're certainly not playing like a team that is shooting for, or expecting, postseason play. then again, they have decades of that weighing them down, so i guess i shouldn't be surprised. i hope for gard's sake and sanity ;) they don't play like they did today against the bucs. :scowl:

can't wait to see big ben back in action next week. with the way the rest of the team has been playing, this is gonna be a really telling game, i think, as far as the rest of the season is concerned.
