MNMNMNmnmnmnmnm How did YOOOOOU guess?

:hiding:

:D

God Bless, Ray

Harrison has always been a thug. The Josh Cribbs hit wasn't against the letter of the rule as it stands, but consider the intent. He lowers his head to use his helmet as a ram. He doesn't leave his feet, but he clearly could have tackled with his body and choose not to.

His threat of retirement is laughable. Good riddance to an idiot.

Agreed. Let that dip**** go home and sit on his couch. James Harrison has always been one of those players who if he wound up getting a head to head and got a severe concussion I would not bat an eyelash except to say serves him right. After I saw the hit on Massaquoi I was hoping some offensive lineman would come out of nowhere and coldcock the **** out of him.

edit: Sigh, wordfilter fail again.

Anyone remember the great great San Fran-Giants game where Shaun Williams took on some HUGE O line man because of a late hit? Exactly what I was hoping for, it's not like it would've cost them the game, even with the gunslinger Colt Mccoy at the helm :smug:.

I already saw that. When asked how much he had to drink. McAfee responded " lot cause I am drunk."

A dumb thing to do, but better than drinking that much and trying to drive. Not sure why swimming in a dirty canal in 39 degree weather was an option, but the booze probably helped coax him to do that.
I think it's kind of funny. Not appropriate, but he was just having fun. I'm not condoning it, as it was illegal public drunkenness, but my first thought was to compare this public drunkenness to Jeff Reed's, where he was trashing a public restroom like a true scumbag.

Last week I went 8-6 bringing me up to...

51-39

ATL beats Cincy
'Skins over Bears
Titans over Iggles
Chefs overs Jags
Steelers over Fish (will Harrison actually retire before this game?)
Saints over Browns
Rams over Bucs
Niners over Panthers
Ravens over Bills
'Hawks over Cards
Donkeys over Jokeland
Pats over Bolts - Chargers need to figure something out...this won't be the game they do it.
Vikes over Pack - GB would win if healthy...
Giants over Cowpokes

Cardinals 3-2 what do you guys think of Max Hall? Messy game vs the Saints, but got the job done.

I predict 9-7 or 10-6 into the playoffs.

This was a short reconstruction year.
I won't discount their win against New Orleans, but they got killed by ATL and SD. They might go 9-7 and make the playoffs just because the NFC West is more like the NFC Worst, but I wouldn't get too excited yet.

using ones helmet as the point of impact is most def. against the rules.

quote from the latest TMQ article on ESPN.com

TMQ said:
Existing rule 12, 2, 7g bans "using any part of a player's helmet (including the top/crown and forehead/hairline parts) or facemask to butt, spear, or ram an opponent violently or unnecessarily," and also states, "violent or unnecessary use of the helmet is impermissible against any opponent." Any opponent, including the ballcarrier. So it's not legal to ram your helmet into the ballcarrier's helmet.

Even with that being said, a lot of times its let go as "incidental contact" or by calling the ballcarrier a "runner" and not a QB or receiver.

I personally thought all but the Robinson hit were dirty or intentionally dirty, but that view seems to garner disdain around these parts.

Like I said before, I'm all for big hits, but they need to be clean. Willingly violating the rules is wrong, and admitting to trying to "hurt but not injure" folks is wrong.

As for Harrison, good riddance. We don't need thugs playing football. The NFL has enough issues to worry about without players head hunting and then saying its a "travesty" when they get punished for doing so.

Well the hot topic for the week was leaving the feet. So I was clarifying that.

I really was surprised that the Cribbs hit didn't garner a fine then. He was running to the ball with his head down so he couldn't claim that he lost the ball carrier or the contact was incidental. He must have known where Cribbs was at and decided that the helmet was the way to go.

Well, you're certainly at odds with every sports commentator whom I've heard discussing these hits in general over the last several days. I haven't heard one of the talking heads say that the hit on Cribbs was illegal. To a person (at least the numerous ones that I've heard), they've all said that there was nothing wrong with that hit. Unfortunate outcome? Yes. Dirty, illegal hit? No. In fact, most have even opined that the only really dirty hit of the weekend was the Merriweather hit on Heap.

Some good news on the Packers injury front. From the PUP list: Al Harris, Atari Bigby and rookie James Starks (Rb) all returned to practice. Harris looked the most ready to get back in the lineup, probably only on nickel though. Also Clay Matthews practiced and LB Brandon Chillar practiced. We are going to need a beefed up D against a strong Queens "O". I suspect Bert will be chucking quick release kind of throws: slants, throws to the flat, etc. Capers better do his best vanilla D impersonation to keep Bert from recognizing pressure and launching the "go up and get its" to Moss.
