NFL Week #7

New England should take care of San Diego, but beware! It's going to be like cornering a wounded animal! Close game, 20-17 or 24-20, something like that.
Eh...I think San Diego is too dysfunctional and too injured to make a good game out of it. I guess anything can happen with Rivers behind center, but I would be surprised if the Pats don't win by at least 7.

47-43 now, look out!!! :ninja:

;)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Cincinnati @ Atlanta - Two teams that were expected to make noise, one has made the sound of a fart in church (Cincy) the other was The Tempest itself (i.e. "a lot of sound and fury, signifying...nothing"). This is tough to call, I have zero confidence in either team...but I have a stake in this one. ;) Atlanta falls to 2nd place in their division, where they belong, and where they'll stay. Cincy 24 Atlanta 20

Jacksonville @ Kansas City - Jax laid an egg last night. I don't think they have the necessary huevos to rebound against a superior opponent on the road. Jax 13 KC 27

St. Louis @ Tampa Bay - St. Lou is a team that is gaining confidence. Tampa....well....they got pantsed pretty clearly last week. Tampa has no confidence in themselves, and will play like it this week...again. St. L 24 TB 10

Philadelphia @ Tennessee - Tenn is looking pretty stout, Philly has been solid. Road game will cost the Eagles though, they don't have the D to stop CJ2500 this week. Philly 23 Tenn 31

San Francisco @ Carolina - Matt Moore is back at starter in Carolina, all is right with the world, right? Wrong. The wheels are COMPLETELY off in Carolwhina at this point, and I don't even think John Fox CARES now. Bloodbath, an angry, underperforming team in SF is going to just destroy a hapless Panthers team. SF 38 Carolina 10

Pittsburgh @ Miami - Miami has snuck out some wins, and is looking better as the season progresses. Won't matter, Pittsburgh's defense is too much in the end. Pitt 27 Miami 20

Buffalo @ Baltimore - Uh. Buffalo should just forfeit this one. Take an extra bye week. Buffalo 3 Baltimore 20

Arizona @ Seattle - Two teams that have flat LUCKED into winning records. Neither is all that solid (AZ fans, before you start making weird sounds, your offense scored ZERO touchdowns against NOLA 2 weeks ago, you were gifted a win by the Saints offense imploding and turning the ball over 5 times). Home team 3. AZ 17 Seaturkeys 20

New England @ San Diego - Wow. Sandy Eggo is really stinkin' it up, eh? But, hey, they've won every home game, so they have a chance, right? Uh-uh. NE 31 SD 20

Oakland @ Denver - Overachiever on the road, underachiever at home. :hmm: Someone's gotta win, right? Home team 3. Oakland 17 Denver 20

SNF: Minnesota @ Green Bay - Minnesota is one game away from mediocre!!! :hyper: Not after this game. Beating Dall@$$ is like beating the football team from the special ed school up the street now, so why be excited? Plus, GB is ANGRY after losing two games in OT - this one won't even get close to OT. Green Bay gets revenge against Brent, 3 sacks, couple INT's, maybe a fumble or two. Ugly loss for the Whinequeens. Minniewonka 17 GB 38

MNF: NY Giants @ Dallas - I'll be watching this one start to finish for the pure joy of seeing the Cowboys complete their implosion for the season. Giants are playing team football right now, a concept that is apparently not considered valid in Big D these days. May not be the blowout I'd truly enjoy seeing here, but Dallas will find a way to lose, and it will almost certainly be stupid and amusing! :hyper: The final score will depend on whether they start doing it early or late. I'm figuring EARLY. Giants 31 Dallas 17

My Game: Cleveland @ New Orleans - Saints showed up last week, demolished an inferior opponent on the road. I'm still hesitant, and will remain so until the beginning of November. However, THIS game...not so much. Cleveland is a sinking ship right now, the Saints will be tossing lead weights and depth charges at them. If Cribbs and Massaquoi were healthy, they might actually be a threat to score points. Unfortunately for Cleveland, they won't be. We may actually see Chase Daniels get some game time at QB this week. ;) Saints 38 Cleveland Steamers 9

8-6 this week, overall 49-41 :hmm:. Can't make heads or tails of this season yet ....

Cincinnati @ Atlanta - Falcons

Jacksonville @ Kansas City - Chiefs been surprising me somewhat this year

St. Louis @ Tampa Bay - Rams have momentum on their side, maybe??

Philadelphia @ Tennessee - I simply will not, ever, root for an Eagles victory .... plus, I think the Titans got it going, now

Washington @ Chicago - I think the Bears have it going on now

San Francisco @ Carolina - 49ers finally did me right last week, I'm staying with them! Well, that, plus the Panthers look terrible bad

Pittsburgh @ Miami - Steelers

Buffalo @ Baltimore - Seriously? Do I even need to type "Ravens"?

Arizona @ Seattle - Honestly, I just can't ever get motivated by either of these two. Simply because, pick-wise, the Seahawks screw me less, I'll go with 'em here

New England @ San Diego - Pats

Cleveland @ New Orleans - Saints cracked open an eyelid, maybe the slumber party is over

Oakland @ Denver - Raiders

SNF: Minnesota @ Green Bay - Packers

MNF: NY Giants @ Dallas - May be a rough game for the Giants, regardless of how rotten the 'Boys look. This is the first division game for Big Blue (a rarity for the Giants, but I guess with the NFL trying to make the end of the regular season a bit more meaningful, it seems that the NFC East games are kinda bunched up towards the end of the year) and no matter what, or who, they play in the division, the games are always hard. I'm expecting my guys to finish strong in the late 3rd and 4th quarters, but hopefully things will be under control by then anyhow. Romo hits the turf at least 3 times, Giants by a solid 10 points

League is selling photo of James Harrison's illegal hit

The folks at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh have uncovered an interesting angle regarding the hit that resulted in the imposition of a $75,000 fine against Steelers linebacker James Harrison.

The league currently is selling photos of the incident involving Harrison and Browns receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, at anywhere from $15.95 to $249.95.
:scowl:
Sorry, but the NFL can't have it both ways. If the league wants to legislate dirty hits out of the game, the NFL should do nothing to profit from those dirty hits.

For now, the NFL is.

UPDATE: It appears that the spike in traffic from PFT Planet has crashed the servers of the NFL Photo Store.

:rollno:

Paging Mr. Goodell, Mr. Goodell, please pick up the white courtesy phone....

...hello?

Roger?

Yes.

You're an IDIOT, please resign. NOW.

Ugh. Good for you Fisher.

And it's a wonder why guys like me have a sense of conspiratorial actions lately by the league.

To be honest the NFL seems to have taken a WWE RAW soap opera esque turn and it is more and more "controlled" by the refs/league. Especially with the advent of such rules as the "excessive celebration" that Dallas got flagged for twice. As it turns out the penalty wasn't on Miles Austin "leapfrogging" Roy Williams, but Sam Hurd and Roy Williams flashing "hook 'em horns".:rollno:

Penalties should be relegated to impeding the opponents performance, and personal fouls. Dancing after a score shouldn't be one of them.

God Bless, Ray

Harrison has always been a thug. The Josh Cribbs hit wasn't against the letter of the rule as it stands, but consider the intent. He lowers his head to use his helmet as a ram. He doesn't leave his feet, but he clearly could have tackled with his body and choose not to.

His threat of retirement is laughable. Good riddance to an idiot.

I already saw that. When asked how much he had to drink. McAfee responded " lot cause I am drunk."

A dumb thing to do, but better than drinking that much and trying to drive. Not sure why swimming in a dirty canal in 39 degree weather was an option, but the booze probably helped coax him to do that.
