NFL Week 9

Hmm...

I'll get the obvious out of the way:

In a real dogfight -

Pats 38
Colts 42

(...the Colts won't sleepwalk through the first half...)

In the game that matters to ME:

Jags 13
Saints 27

(...no passing game in Jax now, and the Saints run D has really stepped up the past few weeks against some pretty decent running offenses...)

Games of secondary interest to me:

AZ 24
TB 13

(...the wheels continue to roll the wrong way in TB leading to Chucky's final demise at the end of yet another losing season...and yes, I despise Chucky and the Bucs, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong... ;) )

Everyone ready for the BIG game? I'll take the Redskins over the Jets. :D :D

I have bad memories of the Ravens games from last year, but this is a different Steeler team with Ben being healthy and making mostly smart decisions. Plus, the Raven defense doesn't seem as intimidating as it once did.

I think Ben and the boys run past the aging Ravens on Monday night and tighten their grip on the AFC North by going 3-0 against the conference.

Steelers could have a little bit of a problem with Baltimore if they aren't careful ..... the running game has got to be solid and pass protection can't break down as much as it has at times during season. But the Steelers should get through this one okay ..... Steelers 24, Ravens 21.

The Giants are home drinking hot tea after the trip overseas and admiring their over-inflated egos in the mirror ....

This could well be the Jets final chance to make believe that they actually have a NFL worthy team, but I can't see them getting past the Redskins. It might be a little closer scoring than most would think, though ... the Jets have a lot at stake here. Of course, Washington would love to pound someone after getting b*tch slapped by the Pats. Probably a blow out .... Redskins 28, Jets 6

As far as THE GAME, I don't see anyone upsetting the Patriots roll towards a clean 16. The Colts are worthy, to be sure, but I gotta go Pats by at least 10 points ....

First, as it appears that my Saints have now showed up and finally CONVINCINGLY told everyone that wrote them off to STFU in capital letters (there are two minutes left, they're up by 41 -24)....

I want to let it be known that CBS sucks big green donkey nards.

:spit:

...with 11 minutes left, they switched us from the NO/JAX game (just after JAX had scored, no less! :rollno: ) to watching 10+ minutes of Chad Johnson being carted off the field with just over 2 minutes left in a lost-cause game against Buffalo.

Utter horse$h!t. Awful decision making on any level you can possibly consider. A game that was not decided yet was dumped for essentially 10 minutes of dead air (I hope Johnson is OK, and it appears he is).

I am just a little prejudiced, as it was MY favorite football team of course, but still, for ANY football fan to be forced to give up watching a game in progress and still not decided to watch a game that was essentially over to start with, and add insult to injury by making us sit through nothing but dead time while a potentially serious injury is attended to?

Stupid.

CBS Sports is uttlerly and completely without the first shred of common sense, they plain suck.

:scowl:

...now thanks to ESPN.com, the game is in the books, the Saints flatten the Jags, and notch win #4 in a row.

TB won, but barely against a sub-standard Arizona team, they're goin' down next time we see 'em in the 'Dome. :)

The Panthers look like pussycats now, they're finished, even though they have the same record and hold a tie breaker at this point, their season is over for all intents and purposes.

...wonder if Adam is man enough to take the bet he offered about the Saints winning the NFC South?

:smug:

(If he's got any sense, he will stay far away from that bet now.... :D )

Brett Favre finally beats all 31 other teams with an unbelievable win over a tough KC defense. Something like 4 or 5 lead changes. Packers remain atop and the class of the NFC and tie New England for the best record in the NFL in the past 11 games at 11-1.

McCarthy's looking like the coach of the year at this point. Favre's not even close to Brady, but at almost twice Brady's age, he's not looking too shabby with another 300+ passing game. (24-34, 360 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT)

Hats off to our rookie kicker, Mason Crosby, making 4 of 5 missing a 54 yarder way left. KC's Rayner (our kicker last year) didn't look good kicking it OOB on one kickoff.

Go Pack Go Go Pack Go Go Pack Go Go Pack Go Go Pack Go
