NFL Week 9

Good game. It's unfortunate that the Colts' offensive line didn't come through in the 4th quarter. They weren't doing as good of a job on creating running lanes in the 4th, but that was when they had the lead and NE knew that they would be running. The real disappointment was with the pass blocking at the end. I mean, give Peyton a chance to win the game.

It was very interesting to see how NE reacted to being down. There was a lot of frustration. Certainly they contained it to execute for the win. It's just so impressive how talented Moss is that the more and more I see his talent the more and more I'm not a fan, (due to how he has dogged it so consistently). Great talent on that NE team, but I am really impressed with Indy. Indy will play well against NE if they meet in the playoffs.

Indy screwed itself by not scoring touchdowns on their first two drives. They needed to get touchdowns there, and didn't. They also had some breakdowns defensively late in the game, (the 3rd down out that couldn't have gotten the ball back to them, the late Faulk touchdown). What was really significant though was the NE receiving corps. Those guys really are that great and make the difference. Welker, Stallworth, and Moss, (although really, I would say Moss and Welker are the most significant), are really making the difference in this team. They're amazing.

Good fun.

(PS: When will Tiki Barber go away?)

Lions 44
Broncos 7

And the game was not as close as the score.

I'm not on the bandwagon yet, But this team should be in the playoffs. The return of Kevin Jones has given them a semblance of a running game, this improves Kitna's protection immensely. Also the Defense leads the league in takeaways and there beginning to come together. Watching Shaun Rogers (all 360 lbs of him) ramble 66 yards to the end zone on an interception return was a unique experience.:D

My only fear, their the Lions, I half expect Kitna, Jones, Rogers, and Williams to get season ending freak injuries in practice.:hmm:

As far as the Pats-Colts. Although the Pats looked a bit irritated at times, Brady showed why he's the best QB on the best team in the NFL. We forget he's been doing this since his rookie season. And even last year when the Pats didn't have practice squad talent at the skill positions, he still kept it close. Payton Manning is very very good, but no QB has played with the level of leadership and poise for an entire career at the level of Brady. Most of the great ones took three-five years to get there.

Whew! That was an amazing game - despite the officials trying to help Indy win. Tob Brady is the Jedi, not Romo!

Jazzbo - Indy didn't 'screw themselves' by not scoring touchdowns on those two drives. New England's defense came up with big stops. Let's not take anything away from the #3 defense in the league, please.

Yeah, I could go back a couple of years to some AFC Championship games that the officials seemed determined to help NE win. Arguing about the refs in this, (or any, really), game is silly. We can find questionable officiating calls on both sides in this game or the history of these two teams playing. Perhaps the refs were just making up for that AFC Championship game so many years ago. :D

It doesn't take anything away from anybody. Indy screwed themselves by not executing better than NE executed. Had Indy been able to score on the defense at that time, the game would have gone very differently. But, NE stopped them. In my opinion, Indy does have the tools to score in those situations. They were without Harrison, which makes a huge difference, but NE stopped them cold. So, props to NE's defense, and no props to Indy's offense.

I disagree. The Colts played way too conservative in those first two drives and I believe it hurt their chances. However, it doesn't matter. NE won and I tip my hat to them.

Now, about the game...WOW! What an awesome game! Both teams showed up to play but the better team won. NE was definately hungry and it showed in the 4th quarter.

As a diehard Colts fan, I feel no shame in this loss. There was no "running up the score" against the Colts. :smug: It also proved that NE isn't that much better than the Colts. They were just better on this day and it should make for a heck of a rematch in the AFC Championship game!

My Chargers let Adrian Peterson run all over them. Rivers sucked and the offense looked lost. Too many injuries to overcome, I guess.

Thank God for Brett Farve. At least the Pack beat KC to keep the Chargers in the hunt.

Oh yeah...and I hate Tom Brady. :spit:

what many of us knew all along ...

unfortunately I was flying to a customer site today and only was able to catch the first Indy drive before boarding my plane. I knew when Indy missed the FG that this was going to be a close game

thankfully the jetstream was with us and we arrived 15 minutes early ... just enough time to catch the last 8:30 of the 4th quarter on the airport widescreens.

my hat's off to Indy and NE for giving us the best game off 2007 so far. until we meet again later this year ...

wow - I just got to see the game highlights ... today's game is probably the best game that's going to be played in the 2007 season ... maybe even topping the superbowl itself.

and I got to see the post game interviews - what a class act Dungee was in his interview ... and coach B left me disappointed in his post game mannerisms :( (never thought I'd ever say that)

I don't know man, I guess your wording makes it look as though it was Indy's game to lose, which was decidedly not the case. Two teams, very closely matched, both playing excellent games - and a homefield crowd that was a factor. Great game - but I still think nobody screwed themselves.

Tamayto, tamahto, I guess...
