NHL 2013 post season thread!

Missing players for the Habs:
Emelin, Eller, White, Gionta, Prust, and it was just announced, Price is out.
Time to break out the golf clubs!
As much as I would love to see them win, the Senators are gonna smell blood and go for the kill.
But, I predict, if the habs can win tonight, they will take it in 7.

Hahahaha

And he's the captain, too. That is why the Caps will never win with his attitude.

I will give him credit on one backcheck he did, though. Can't believe he got a charging penalty on it, but it was nice to see him involved defensively for once in his career.

Ultimately, he didn't put the same effort into preventing the loss. What a play by the Rangers!

Too funny that Fleury is having issues again this post season and the Penguins are yanking him.

Didn't see much of the games last night but I did see that even after Crosbly had gotten hit in the jaw with a puck (didn't see that) that he was crazy enough to get into the pile at the end of the game. Does he want to chance another hit to the head?

It all goes to my point about goalies. Are there any goalies not named Brodeur currently in the league that have put together 5-6 seasons of All-Star/Vezina level play? You know the Roy-Hasek types that are capable of keeping any team in a game and putting a team on their backs for a playoff run?

Is there a reduction in the level of quality of goalies? Are the defenses not as good? Or are the scorers better? I suspect it has to do with the cap and the inability of teams to keep a deep defensive core in front of them.

Another crazy-close game between the Kings and Blues last night. For the 3rd time in the series, a decisive goal was scored in the final minute. This time, it was STL getting the tying goal to send the game into OT. Voynov scored the winner to give the Kings a 3-2 edge in the series and set up the opportunity to close it out in LA on Friday.

Go Kings!

It was 6-hole, but who's counting? :D

Absolutely; a very tough team to play against, which couldn't really be said just a year ago.

Upon further review 6 it was. (BTW - when did they add 6 and 7 holes - there were only 5 when I was a kid :D)

Toronto is for real and heading in the right direction. In a league were a #6 swept a #3; a #7 is up 3-1 on a #2 and a #8 is tied 2-2 with a #1; Toronto is a contender this year and I see no reason that they will not be back in it next year.

If I had a dime every time I heard this from a Leafs fan, I'd be a millionaire.

IMHO, acquiring Lupul was a key transaction for the Leafs, but I am wholly unconvinced about Reimer and the bottom 2 d-men pairings.

Reimer has similar numbers in the regular season as Crawford and has been stellar so far this post-season. Stopping 40+ shots on a nightly basis.

I watch a LOT of hockey and make sure to see the long highlights of every game. Reimer regularly let's in soft goals. Not so with Crawford. He's not a household name but he's quietly had a stellar season. Of course, it helps to have the Hawks in front of you, but nevertheless, soft goals aren't a regular occurrence with him, unlike Reimer and Fleury.

It's the classic symptom of being a Leafs fan to be blinded to their shortcomings or overrate the team. I'm glad they made the Playoffs because it's one more Canadian team, but they're not scaring me due to their execution. Reimer belongs in that group. He has to do a lot of work to prevent those softies from going in. If he can do that, I'll be glad to eat crow, but I don't personally see that happening soon. Hopefully, they buy Grabovski out in the summer. I lost all (whatever) respect I had for him this season. What an underachieving bum. And he costs $5 million/year, too! Ouch. Every team has its dead wood and we'll hope to see the amnesty buyout being used for him. Bad contract.

Nice performance from the Pens. I didn't watch the game, but I listened to parts of it on the radio. I about flipped out when I dialed the game in on Sirius and it looked like 10-4 Islanders. Then I realized the one was a capital I. NYI0 PIT4.

I was glad to see Ottawa finish off Montreal. I like the Senators.
