NHL 2013 post season thread!

No heart, no Hart.

Back to Toronto. Leafs came out stronger and held on. I hope we see a bit more energy and determination in the B's next game. Even then the game was winnable - in the third the B's put one off the crossbar and Jagr hit the upper part of the shaft of Reimer's stick from right in front.

Man I can't wait to get the the Eastern conference. Sunday nights game seven has a 10 pm start time. Really 10 pm on a sunday night, that's just BS. :scowl:

I get it on week night, but a 10 pm start on a sunday night is just plain wrong. And if they win, they get to stay in LA for two more 10 pm starts to begin the series. :eyebrow:

Some injury reports from the Habs.

Ryan White said he punctured a lung during Game 3 of the series, while Francis Bouillon revealed he was playing with a broken finger suffered in an April 11 fight against the Buffalo Sabres' Steve Ott.

Forward Brandon Prust hurt his ribs in Game 4 against the Senators and will undergo an MRI on his shoulder in the coming days.

Goaltender Carey Price suffered a sprained MCL in his knee in Game 4, which will take about six weeks to recover. (...)

Lars Eller, who left Game 1 on a stretcher after an illegal hit to the head from Eric Gryba, said he's had no symptoms for three or four days. Eller said he'll be ready for next season.
Ouch!

And I also wonder what the Canucks will do in the off-season. The Sedins are entering the last year of their contract. They'll be 33 when it ends. There's a chance that GM Gillis will try to trade them to get a high return rate. They definitely need to change things in a major way over there, but I hope Alain Vignault won't be the one getting the ax.

Meanwhile, the goalie situation cannot last and Luongo mentioned that he can't envision himself coming into the same situation as he's had to face this season again.

They have no secondary scoring and my guess is they'll use their buyout options for Booth who's done absolutely nothing since joining the Canucks. An overpriced injury-prone player who once had a bright future.

Its disgusting the amount of racism that still exists in the NHL.

I guess I shouldn't say NHL. Both the players and teams seem to have very progressive views on social issues. It seems like there are always stories like this popping up though.
I play NHL 13 online on a very regular basis with a friend and the amount of racists we encounter is staggering. Without any exaggeration whatsoever, at least 1/3 of the teams we play have racist names that are not only blatant but would make anybody with a conscience shake their heads in disappointment and embarasment for being in the same race as these people.

This guy should be fired for doing this.

And it proves my point which I've mentioned quite often that Subban is one of the most hated players in the NHL simply because of the color of his skin.

Sad but I know the human race too well to know that it's mostly too true.

Yeah, they look awful. Have to also give credit to how the Islanders are playing, but Pens are way off their game.

Lazarus, congrats to winning this series. First to win 4 and you did it. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Being an Islander fan, I just got to say a few things.

I'm so ****ing proud of these guys I can't see straight.

Watching this series, what else could anyone want from their team? (I know the obvious answers from fellow Islanders fans..., a goalie, a winger for Tavares, so and so gone from the team etc.....)

But for those of you who watched this series (except for gm. 1), SERIOUSLY, what else could anyone want from any team they pull for?

Effort, hustle, perseverance, and Heart by the TON. Quick transition and attack almost every shift. Hitting. Outplaying a more talented team for alot of this series.Tonight coulda been 6-3 in regulation.
(Call me biased, but damn).

I know you say the pens were off their game, but maybe the attacking style of the Islanders had something to do with that.
As in football, they say the best defense is a good offense....or in this case maybe offensive pressure. Keeping the pens stars out of the Isles zone limited their chances.

Wish Nabokov could have been better.

I'm not picking on you, just a frustrating loss for me....soooo many chances, and been a down team for what seems like forever since the early '80's some series wins in '93.

Yes the Isles lost and damnit it hurts like hell, but I am so very proud of these guys.

The next person who says to me "I'm sorry" when I tell them I'm an Islanders fan is gonna get his eye dotted.
