Ghost was a breath of fresh air two seasons ago. I'd be let down if they move him. Plus the contract is super cap friendly.

I don't know much about Panarin. I've heard the name thrown around on some of the Flyers podcasts but didn't know if he was ever a realistic addition.

Hayes reportedly signs 7 years 50 mil for a 7.14 mil aav. About what was to be expected. I'm sure the Armchair GMs will hate this deal.

We are gonna be bumping into cap issues in the coming years. Hextall was good at working with cap space and developing talent internally. Maybe to a fault.

Some good players are gonna come up as FAs in the coming years and we might have some difficulty getting a deal done.

Reception has been lukewarm on Morin among Flyers talking heads. Small sample size with extend time out recovering from a knee injury/surgery. He could be good but might not be for the O&B.

Peeps seem high on Frost and Radcliff a slightly less high on Farabee.

Us Pens fans said the exact same thing about Olli Maatta. I deemed him as untradeable during his first two years, a defensive cornerstone of the franchise for years to come. But his play fell off, injuries mounted, and he never regained the confidence or form he displayed early on. He's now a Blackhawk. :cautious:

The Maata comparison is fair. I'm just not ready to throw the towel in on Ghost and Provorov yet.

If you spotify and listen to podcasts this is my go to for Flyers chatter. BSH Radio ep#213 is a debriefing on these moves. Flyperbole is also hosted on the same podcast and is a bit more color commentary. They have yet to upload an episode post maneuvers.

This is where my weird team loyalties get in the way sometimes. I wouldn't buy that telescope because it's Flyer colors.

No argument from me with the NHL Awards winners last night. Kucherov, Vasilevsky, Giordano, O'Reilly, Pettersson...all deserving winners IMO.

Some folks seemed surprised by the Jack Adams Trophy going to Trotz. Many thought it was a lock for Berube but you gotta remember, these awards are for regular season only, and with that criteria, I agree with the Trotz win. He took a perennial doormat who had just lost its franchise player, and made them a force in the Metropolitan Division, perhaps the toughest division in the league. :thumbsup:

Yeah, agree Binnington would have been a good choice, but other than that, think the awards went as they should have. Guess maybe because he only played half the year may have had something to do with it.

He was turning into all star material with the Blackhawks as he really seemed to fit in with the style of play and gelled with his teammates. It was a real blow when we lost him and I think it marked the point where the Hawks lost their ability to be a winning team.
