NHL Season 2019-20

Hopefully, Patches can keep up his preseason form once the real games start. Three points the other day and it's like he remembered that he actually knows how to hockey. I still like Vegas again.

I know that there must have been a time when the Wings' odds to win the cup were that bad, but I was much too young then to remember them. Brutal.

Whoa! Reality check for this Pens fan. Seeing them listed in the middle of the pack doesn't sit well with me. Especially that far behind the Avs and Panthers!

Just noticed on that list..starting with Pittsburgh, there are five teams in a row all from the Metropolitan division. Personally I think the Rangers should be bunched in there with the rest, based on the moves they made this summer. But hey, if they stink again, I won't mind.

One day older, one breath closer to....well, you get what I mean....

I hear you and share that concern. The Red Sox pretty much did the same thing and went from WS winners last year to a roughly .500 season and out of the playoffs this year. That said, if I were in the B's front office, I'd do the same thing. It is a good team with more potential upside from the young players than downside from the older players.

That is the beauty of sport....we have to play the game to see how it turns out...I saw too many fast wingers blowing by Z last year, and I don't think he is getting any faster. B's are a good solid tough playing team, but I think time is passing them by.

Mrs. Newt comes back from a night meeting, hears the TV and asks what I am watching.

Me: Bruins preseason game.
Mrs. N: No kidding, I love it.

Yes, I know how lucky I am.
Ha! My lovely bride of 32 years said, "Hockey has started ALREADY?" :banghead:

Coupled with my being a fanatic of not only hockey, but also NFL football and Premier League soccer, she knows this time of year I'll be dominating the TV remote on the weekends. ;)

Mrs. Newt will only watch baseball and hockey. I'll watch other sports, but since high definition big screen TVs have been around, hockey is my favorite to watch.

I HATE that it takes this long for hockey season to start.

I say that every year.
Went to a preseason game last night; Preds @ Lightning. So good to see it live. I kinda forget how loud the 'clack' of stick on puck is-TV sound never does it justice-and the sound of bodies hitting boards. Started off slow and for 2 periods, it looked as if the Preds supplied the refs("Ref, you suck!"-heard more than once)and I think Coop may have mentioned during intermission that staying outta the sin bin would be useful. Kooch had the GWG and an empty netter with about 30 seconds left.:hyper:
On another note, I had an excellent smoked bacon poutine. Mmmmmm:thumbsup::)
