NHL Season 2021

Despite being a hater of both of those teams, I felt the two late penalties (Hayes & Laughton) were kinda much. Yes, technically both were penalties, but how often have we seen the refs swallow their whistles late in a tie game (or close game) like that? Not that I'm upset seeing the Flyers lose, but Laughton looked so p*ss'ed it was almost comical.

Ha ha! Well, I agree with everything but your not being upset about seeing the Flyers lose. :D

I can't complain, because they WERE technically penalties. The Laughton penalty could have just as easily not been called. And before that, the Hooking (or Holding) penalty on Hayes against Marchand was pretty weak also. Especially considering some of the antics and holding the stick (of Hayes, incidentally) by Marchand earlier. And of course Marchand wasn't called for it.

All that being said, the calls were technically penalties; so I can't complain about it. But two things stand out to me:

1. The Bruins are kryptonite to the Flyers.
2. The Flyers cannot seem to hold a lead in the 3rd anymore.

The Datsyuk memories caused me to visit the website of the team he currently plays for, Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Then I found my way to the KHL website, where I found the fan shop.
$48 USD later, I have three KHL team beanies on the way to me from Russia, including one from Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Within a couple hours of my order, the package was dropped off at the post office in Moscow by a woman named Veronika. Delivery is expected between February 10 and 16.
It's kind of exciting that a package from Russia with cool hockey beanies in it is on the way to me.

Coincidentally, I tried to open the KHL homepage just yesterday. (I've had it bookmarked for a couple of years now. I don't really follow the league that closely, just curious to see which former NHL-ers are doing well over there.)
But sure enough, our IT guy here at work keeps tightening up the firewall, especially on sites based in foreign countries. So instead of seeing those familiar bold letters of KHL, I got ACCESS DENIED flashed across my screen. :banghead:

Ah, yep. Part of my role where I work now is IT security. One of the firewall rules we implement for our clients is country based IP/website blocking.
Maybe there was also a message on the screen about if you feel this was blocked in error, click here to submit a request to unblock?
I sure love getting those request to see what people are asking for and why. :D

Yep, that's the warning. I figure I'll just check it at home instead of, as you mentioned, asking our IT guru for access.

Although I did have a talk with him when I needed to check out the KLPGA (South Korean) golf ladies and was denied. Priorities, you know. :smug:

Fixed it for ya.

Every team deals with weak officiating and it definitely stings to see those calls get made when the majority of similar penalties were let go during the Isles back to back; but you gotta battle through it.

Flyers had a slow start (unforced turnovers galore) and wound up evening up with the B’s as far as driving play (according to my eye test) and it all came undone by allowing the wheels to fall off the PK.

Flyers couldn’t even nail an ENG which could have been the difference maker.

The Flyers are frustrating so far this year but hey at least they painted Gritty like one of their French girls.

My paper bag was ready yesterday for the meeting between Habs and Sens , but what a surprise !!

A combination of team that had the foot on the gas pedal and the other team on the brake :)
