Holy cow, the Bruins are playing some AWFULLY exciting hockey right now. Love them or hate them.
I will always love the Bruins because of one player, Adam McQuaid. Also known as Darth Quaider.
He arrived in New England a few months before we did in 2011. He wasn't spectacular, he wasn't flashy, he wasn't really known to most NHL fans. I really started liking him as I sat there watching game after game on NESN with my buddy Jack Edwards. He played tough, he looked out for his teammates, he played the minutes that didn't produce much for the highlight reel, but he did it. He'd also open a can of whoop butt when he had to.
Just a few weeks ago he retired due to a neck problem and wanting to be a father to his son. Cool guy there.
Wherever you are Quaider, I love you man.

Well, the Leafs has lost Simmons for 4-6 weeks with a busted up hand after taking a shot in the glove. He's been a real eye opener for us Leaf fans and some one we will dearly miss while he is healing. His front of the net presence has been a boon for the Leafs.

A fifth of the way into this season, and the schedule is unraveling for some teams. Due to some postponed games, the Coyotes will play the Blues SIX times in a row. Really like a playoff series, with a week break between games 4 & 5.
What I want to know is why he thought it was necessary or good to take a run at Quinn Hughes in the first game in the late minutes of the 3rd when they were up 7-3. Extremely unnecessary.
Just wondering where some of our old friends from previous NHL threads are hiding...

I'm here(thanks for remembering), basking in the glow of the reflection off the Stanley Cup. I've just been busy trying to resolve personal situations. And enjoying watching hockey.
To perhaps send a message to the youngster that there are two more games coming and he better keep his head up? If I recall, there was no penalty called on the play.

Unnecessary. Enjoy your three wins that you barely needed to work for. Just be reminded not every team will roll over for you like the Canucks have done.
I had heard that there is a great deal of unrest on the west coast with regard to the Nucks and their fortunes this year. Thanks for confirming.

I knew the Nucks would regress anyways so this isn't a surprised but the last four games prior to last night's looked like no one on the team gave a hoot except the goaltenders, Tyler Motte, and Nils Hoglander.
Yes, losing Markstrom, Tanev, and Toffoli hurt the locker room a lot more than the team will ever publicly admit. Markstrom and Tanev were key leaders for the Canucks and the way Jim Benning handled the free agency in 2020 was atrocious.

I had high hopes for the Nucks, given their playoff run this past fall. I thought they were going to be a team on the move, but their GM failed the franchise by giving up what appears to have been , the heart of the team. Can't blame the coaching staff as they have to play what they have, so I would think that Benning is on thin ice these days.
On a side note... my nephew is married to Horvat's cousin. I was to be the MC at their wedding this past summer and I was looking forward to meeting Bo, but covid put a stop to that!
In other news, it looks like Torts is having "challenges" with Laine.
