NHL Season 2023-24

While watching tonight's game, it's evident that Florida's strategy is to cling to every Edmonton player like glue and not leave them any room to pass. They're forcing the Oliers to work extra hard for every inch of advancement down the ice and restricting them to mostly low percentage shots that Bobrovski can handle easily.

Edmonton has made significantly more shots on goal than Florida in all three games but has come up short in scoring in all three.

That's good strategy there, and it's made possible by having absolute faith in your goalie.

The Oilers showed what they're capable of in the third period last night. After that lucky goal that bounced in off a Panther, the whole building came alive, including the players, who, as Ray Ferraro alluded to, looked like they were just watching a movie up to that point. :smug:

They likely will lose these Finals, but I don't think they're going to let the Panthers clinch in Rogers Arena.

The Panthers have done an incredible job of keeping Edmonton's players to the outside of the face off dots and than blocking up the centre of the ice. I would surely hate to see Edmonton lose, but at this point, I just don't see them being able to bust up the Panthers neutral zone trap, or their strong defensive play. They did have a shot at winning last night, they just pulled a "LEAF" move and sat out about 6 minutes of last night's 2nd period. (Insert "Stupid Leafs")
On another note, i am struggling to decide if I despise Bennett more than Marchand! LOL

Saw the score once, 1-3 at the time. Turned on NHL on Sirius/XM leaving the gig. Turned back to Little Steven's Underground Garage.
AFA Tuesday night, I have a rehearsal I need to attend. I missed last week's due to our monsoon. Didn't feel like driving 43 miles each way in that weather at evening rush hour.

Interesting how if a player on yer team is aggressive, it's great; but if he's on another team, especially the one your team is up against, he's "dirty".
