Beer's made from water...Can't wait for Game 1 tonight.
May need some seriously watered down drinks if I want to make it through the first period alive.
Not liking the floating graphics during play. Getting a bad glowing puck vibe.
I don't disagree at all(I'm 78), but I get that certain people in charge think that all of this showy crap will attract more viewers, thus more $$$. All the graphics at the beginnings and breaks of shows likely cost them a story/video or two. But it looks cool. That's exactly what I was thinking.
I was watching the game ronight with my pop and he was complaining about the moving graphics advertisements on the boards. I commented that the NHL never seems to understand how much the TV fans are annoyed by their intrusive CGI graphics.
We didn't like the blue comet effect around the puck and we don't like the spinning circle under the skates of the player in possession of the puck.
Just cut it out.

Bob Ross painted up a mighty good win for that 1Well, that's one.![]()
It looked like he'd taken some tumbling lessons from Vasilevskiy.Bob Ross painted up a mighty good win for that 1
I'm sure it's the attempt to gather more attention for the new/younger/whatever viewers. NHL is competing for viewership with WWE, video games, and reality TV.I don't disagree at all(I'm 78), but I get that certain people in charge think that all of this showy crap will attract more viewers, thus more $$$. Where I'm located, I'm outta range of radio stations that carry Panthers/Lightning/any other hockey games. I only have Sirius/XM in the gigmobile and NHL radio rarely carried a game I cared about. At least now they'll not carry something I won't wanna hear.I'm sure it's the attempt to gather more attention for the new/younger/whatever viewers. Some of us seasoned viewers (some of us are more seasoned. Wether that be time or red pepper flakes is a matter of perspective) are of the "pre-Jumbotron" era
Maybe that makes you more of a traditionalist, or less into flashy things. Maybe it's why I listen to more games than I watch
See that's the benefit of the non-flip phone. All the MLB apps and NHL apps carry the audioWhere I'm located, I'm outta range of radio stations that carry Panthers/Lightning/any other hockey games. For what the phone and service would cost me, I'll put up with crappy callers. I did a little research and apparently there is a local radidio station that carries Panthers games. I'll try it tomorrow night.See that's the benefit of the non-flip phone. All the MLB apps and NHL apps carry the audio
I still prefer Joe Bowen to any TV guy. Holy Mackinaw! For what the phone and service would cost me, I'll put up with crappy callers. I did a little research and apparently there is a local radidio station that carries Panthers games. I'll try it tomorrow night.
Tell me 'bout it! Bally Sports Sun and Bally Sports Florida(Lightning/Rays)and(Panthers/Marlins)and Comcast have the same [stuff] here in S.E FL. The cable/internet is already too ____ing expensive and then I'd hafta add streaming or, now that regular season hockey is over, MLB Extra Innings for more $$$. And I'm not certain I'd get the Rays/Marlins games anyway 'cos their disclaimer says "subject to blackout in local areas". Aaaarrrggh!Bally Sports Detroit, which broadcast Red Wings, Pistons and Tigers, has filed for bankruptcy. They are feuding with Comcast and Comcast dropped them from their channel lineup when their seasons were over. Each one blames the other for the rift. Comcast has issued a refund and a rate adjustment. Bally offers streaming, which would be on top of my current cable bill. I'm ready to tell them both to ****off but I really like watching Red Wings and Tigers games. Thankfully, the Lions are not broadcast on BSN.
