nickelback at half time

Yeah, there's a thread about it. I just saw a bit of it, and it sounded like when their lead singer stopped strumming on his les Paul for a measure or two, the sound kept going. And it wasn't just the dude on acoustic behind him.

I used to hate Nickelback and all they stood for, but their new song is actually pretty good; I realised that if it was anyone other than them playing it, I'd really like the song. Therefore, I've thrown my prejudice to the wind and taken a scary step towards enjoying 'popular' music...God help me....

I don't really understand all the Nickelback hate along with a lot of the hate I've seen here for Pete Wentz. Are they tearing it up breaking new ground in bass playing or music? Absolutely not, but if you don't like it and if it's not your thing, don't pay attention to it, pretty simple. But if you have to go out of your way to bring attention to it and talk smack about it, it is pretty clear you are just jealous or you wouldn't be worked up about it. Get over it. How many people signed the petition to protest them playing the halftime show? I bet very few of them were season ticket holders, if they were I would have seen massive booing when they were introduced, which did not happen.

It was the first time I have ever heard that song, pretty bland for the most part but they were actually playing live which tends to be rare in this type of situation. From what I could take from the lyrics, it appeared to be about a fairly positive message, working together we are stronger than if we don't, can't really argue with that, if more people understood this the world would be a much better place. Actually pretty funny when you look at the big picture where a lot of people stepped up and tried to get them banned.

If I were in charge of booking an act for that halftime show I wouldve gotten someone like Behemoth. Just imagine the reaction from thousands of fans when a bunch of dudes in spikes and corpse paint started playing Ov Fire and the Void. It would be priceless and easily make the sportscenter top 10.

Just don't watch!!
