No cell

I almost feel tied down having one. Remember when...there weren't any? They are handy for emergencies and all but how often is that? I'm not trying to push not having one, just pissed after getting a new "plan" for the family. I'm more than willing to dump mine so they can have them.

I'm calling it... land lines are going out for people. A cell is much more practical.

I agree. I haven't had a land line in almost a year. I have coworkers and friends who have not had one for several years.

With my job, I have to be in constant contact anyway, and a cell phone is so much more practical. I don't have to hang around the house.

And tethering to my laptop makes it possible for me to do my job from the park, a football game, etc.

Yep, no land line here either. I'm in college, and in the past three years, my land line has been called once... and it was a wrong number... I don't even know what the right number is.

I always give out my cell number. That phone is always with me, and if it's not convenient to take the call, I'll let it go to voicemail.

Have had a cell for about a year now (had to get it for job). Since I'm self employed cost was a concern. I have a $9.99 phone that I must put $20 onto my account ever three months. There is no monthly charge but I pay .18 a minute for usage. My unused $'s rollover each month so after putting my $20 on last month I had $38 worth of time.

Land line I use from my cable company. For two years they added phone service with unlimited local and .04 long distance to my cable and internet package and since I am in a bundle my bill went down $20 per month.
