no doubt the worst gig on the planet

The worst I can offer is a Rotary end-of-year gala event in a restaurant. "Sure we have a complete sound system and mixer and mikes and everything. We have music every night." Okay, we're just a trio, no drums, just keyboard, guitars and voices (this was before I was playing bass). But we got there to discover their PA included a mixer with two working channels, which was fine, because they only had one working speaker, which we had to place AROUND THE CORNER FROM WHERE WE WERE SITUATED so the wait staff could get by us. The result: we had to improvise with what we happened to have with us (too far to go home for real equipment), we couldn't hear ourselves, apparently the balance was way off, but how could we know. In the end we just quit early, and let the restaurant provide the same music they have every night - a CD player and the one working speaker!

We got paid really well, but it was NOT worth it.

(BTW, CanadaMan, where's the fire story?!?!?!)
