Hi guys,
Please don't hate me because I've got gigs. But I think it's cool that we all share a little about where we rehearse. First, when I'm practicing at home I look something like this. I have my bass and my headphones plugged into the computer, playing along while I learn tunes.
About once a month the ANB has a paid rehearsal at The Ranch so the owner can sing with the band.
This is the green room at The Ranch. When we're not eating or goofing off we'll sometimes have vocal rehearsals before the show or between sets. It's fairly quiet in here so we can practice with an acoustic guitar.
When I rehearse with the worship team at church we just use the stage and the church PA. There are normally no floor wedges on stage as we all use IEMs. This picture is from Christmas time when there was also a choir on stage. The floor monitors were for the choir.
This is a picture from an Easter rehearsal.
When True Willie rehearses it's usually at a place in Fullerton, The Riff Haus, where we use the "big" room.
This is the bass rig in that place. I always ask if they can have a bigger one for me next time.
Most of us on stage kind of, sort of, ready to rehearse.
Arnie has a nice home studio and rehearsal space, a converted garage that he built himself.
Every once in a while the KRB would rehearse at Kelly's place in the space that Jack built. But now the new guy, Alex, has been rehearsing there.
I've had a few others in friends' living rooms and other rental spaces but you get the idea. I'm lucky that I have only a few unpaid rehearsals a year (except for church) either for an important show or to learn a few special tunes. Most of the time we'll do our homework, shed at home, then put the new tune together at sound check. I'm spoiled.
What's next? Food at rehearsal? Chicks at rehearsal?
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
