No Pedullas for sale?

I have 2 Pedulla basses; Rapture 5 single pickup and Thunderbass ET-6. Both are very different in sound and also very smooth and easy to play. I am interested in buying another Pedulla, however I never see them for sale. In searches, the results are not current. Is it that no owners wish to part with them now that they are no longer made?

Could well be the case. They are sought after basses, well thought of among those who know good bass guitars. As Mike no longer makes them, it's natural the numbers on sale would decline as owners hold onto them.

Keep searching, some for sale will come up. It looks like there are a few on Reverb but the prices are high. That's demand for you, I sold my 1989 MVP5 recently and it was gone within a couple of days of posting the ad.

Edit: I misread your comment and thought you didn't know they are no longer made. Disregard.

Mike Pedulla retired in 2019. If you want one, you'll have to look in the used market.

The trouble for me is that I wanted an 8 string fretless, and he did not appear to make too may of those.

I go by there a lot when I'm at the beach. I'm happy to check something out for you if you like. It might be a week or so but I'm happy to help. I'm going near there this weekend, in fact.

I sold my MVP 4 due to weight when I developed nerve damage in my shoulder. Best sounding bass I’ve ever owned. Played like a dream. I’ve owned 2 over the years. Both P/J. One with EMGs, one with Barts.

I visited Mike in his shop before he retired. Sweet guy. Very work-a-day shop.

I’m chasing after that same tone with a bordwell PJ with Barts at under 7 pounds. Cliff is the first builder that has rivaled Mike Pedulla for me since Mike Tobias. For my hands and tastes, he surpasses them both. Brubaker is in my top 4 with these guys.

Good luck with your search, but try some other builders, you might be surprised what’s out there these days.

There are some to be had on Reverb & eBay but most are overpriced. I picked up a Hexabuzz here for a reasonable price so there’s still sane people out there.

Yeah if any of you guys want me to check out something for you I'm happy to do it. I can't promise a time table. Pretty much I can swing by there when we're down at the beach.....which is most weekends with good weather (and no gigs) and a few weeks a year....like one in August.
