Hello all,
I have an old Peavey Unity Series PJ and I switched out the stock passive Split Coil Precision pickup to a DiMarzio DP-122 (to match the DP-123 already in the bridge position).
After I connected everything up, both pickups work fine, but I have no Tone control whatsoever.
Here are the only changes I made:
1. de-solder the old pickup ground from the back of V1 Pot
2. de-solder the old pickup hot wire from the middle lug of V1 Pot.
3. soldered the new Green to the back of V1
4. soldered the new Red to the middle lug of V1 (contact with capacitor)
5. Per DiMarzio's instructions the Black and White pickup wires get soldered and taped together
Thanks in advance for any advice - obviously I'm a complete novice at wiring. Sorry for the crude drawing.
Steve
