It's started a really loud hum which goes when I unplug it from the desk anyone any idea what's wrong or come across this before???? I plug straight into the unit and from the peavey unit straight into the desk.

Try pluging the output into any other listening device to monitor whether there is hum now.
Try another input to the desk.
Supply power from the same outlet as the desk, if not now.
The PV may have become defective, if above does not satisfy.

Thanks Gar Bear, yes I've tried another channel on the desk ... Still got the problem... I do take the same power supply for all outboard kit that is patched to the desk.... But tonight I reduced the input gain to the desk from around +15db to +5 db and its reduced to an acceptable level.... This was at the end of the show so I need to see how much I need to increase the level of my bass to get my bass back in the mix fight fails I will listen to it through another medium ..thanks again for your help.
