If you ask me, things like the "Rhodes" piano of the DX7 are among having-aged-worst sounds around. I can't stand 80s movies because of the soundtrack that was at the time surely the pinnacle of "hip".Hi, side question but would you say a DX7 is a good buy today
That was "THE" synth in the 1980's and virtually all of those 80's songs using a synth used the Yamaha DX7. It has what has been called a "fat sound" because most of the digital synths back then sounded pretty tinny. It was the first digitally-controlled FM synthesizer and it produced very realistic sounds. I don't know that it's going to give you anything different than what you already have with your current synth(s) though.Hi, side question but would you say a DX7 is a good buy today even though modern keys have a majority of those sounds available? Going through this question currently. Want to double on keys in my band covering 80s stuff but don't want something with a billion features and menus to scroll through that I will never use.
