I suppose I should disclose that I’m more semi-modular with an unhealthy dose of full modular envy! I have a few slots to fill my humble little rig!

Nice! I think it makes a ton of sense to start with a semi-modular synth like the Minibrute. One of the big downsides of modular in the beginning is that you can't fully utilize the "fun" modules without the "boring" stuff like VCAs, attenuators, logic, etc. Starting from a pre-existing voice that already has some of this stuff (like the 0-coast, Mother 32, or the Minibrute) lets you build up more smoothly I think.

I built my system beginning with the Morphagene, and while that was a lot of fun it took quite a while before I had enough modules in the system to really support it. I'll eventually build up to 12u and cap it out, I think. Most of my expansion will really be logic and utility modules, probably 3-5 for each "voice" module.

TBH I’m probably a better percussionist than bass player. Same with mandolin. But I still love me some bass.
