I didn't know these could be split to single coil. Sounds great. I think I'm gonna get a set of the pickups.

If anyone wants to hear a track with these PM me. I recorded an improvisation for a recording, but it was fairly unfocused and doesn't fit in with the rest of the tracks. The bass sound is great though.

I'm finalizing fitment details to then order a set of 17mm 5 string Alnico III BigRigs!

According to Stew, I will be the first actual order of BigRigs in Alnico III.

I never know what to think of DCBs. They sound different in every video/sound sample I hear.

For example, the new Ibanez BTB videos have them sounding really dark and middy. They do seem to be known as a darker pickup. But, I have heard them more clear than that, in other samples.

I would guess Big Rigs are more defined and detailed.

I confirmed my order for Bigrigs with Alnico 3 magnets. should be 2-3 weeks.

Just got these in tonight. Had to go custom due to the non-standard string spacing + angled pickups and the Nordstrand folks nailed it. So far so good...

I'm using a Pope Flexcore preamp with them.

So far really enjoying them. The neck is like a giant P bass pickup but a little more refined around the edges. Together they are just huge.

Yup. That's how they were designed to be used and what Nordstrand recommended, though they have 4 conductor wire so you can have series/single coil as well.

I originally had mine wired series. Sounded great. Then parallel....sounds equally great, just different. The other day Carey switched just my back pickup to series for more punch. In the end I think I'm going to have it so I can switch between series and parallel (both pickups at the same time). Both are great options. I think parallel is the best all around choice though.

Arrived! Thankfully, the strings order I have been waiting a month for, also arrived.

I totally forgot about having to drill holes for these, so they won't be installed tonight, cuz I gotta borrow a drill :\
