Carey just posted this. Enjoy.
NJ5 Headless design.
He also uploaded these in his Facebook page
I saw Stew post this and it made me all tingly in my pants. Love it.
Yep..my thoughts exactly
Glad Carey has this "creative" bug Ill pass
That looks badass.
But how do I hang it on my wall????
THIS is what the Steinbergers should still look like!!!
Looks OK, but I could never own one. I'd be afraid my hand would shoot off the end of the neck when I do my signature song-ending glissando.
Then you just let it swing behind you!!
Good way to whack your guitarist upside the head at a gig and get away with it though.
If you look closely, there's a nice volute towards the nut. I once had a Kubicki and it felt like there was a headstock to my left hand.
Beautiful bass! Personally not my thing though. I think the only headless I would buy would be an Über bass.
the neck isn't just straight flat in the back, there's actually a volute (which it is also serve as a reinforcement for the head piece and nut).
I'm with the 'meh' folk on this one. Which is not where I'm used to sitting when it comes to Carey's work.
I'm a fan.
Count me in on this one...I always have a soft spot in my heart for a headless 5.
Dig. Don't think he'll sell many of them though. It's got sort of a late '80s vibe at a time when traditional P and J designs are ruling the day.
I'd rock one though. I bet it would sound great on some heavy Mark King action.
