Norwood out of Fishbone?

somewhat cyptic message on Fishbones facebook yesterday:

Being married is hard. Being in a family is hard. Being in a band is being married to several family members at the same time.
There have been a lot of changes going on. None have been this difficult… Fishbone has had a revolving door of valued and appreciated members over the last 40+ years.
As times change, so must we, and in trying to make the necessary changes, there have been several discussions within this family, some discussions going about as well as family discussions tend to do...
At a certain point, adults have to agree to disagree and step away from the table in order to preserve the bonds that brought them together in the first place.
As a result, in May, Fishbone may look a little different, and we hope you'll give it a chance knowing that we did not make any decision lightly or without due process.
If anyone who has purchased tickets to see Fishbone this summer and feel you don’t want to give this line up a chance, while bummed, we will absolutely help in making sure you are fully refunded.
We will be continuing to support all projects of members of the Fishbone Universe.
All shows announced moving forward will be happening.
We hope to see you out there with us.

Supposedly John Steward confirmed somewhere that he, Norwood & Dirty Walt were out. As a musician I certainly get that bands change and openly give it a chance, but I also know only so many, or certain members can change before its something else.
Fishbone without Norwood.... dont know what to do with that.

Don’t get me wrong…Norwood is amazing on the bass, and Fishbone has been spotty over the years but usually comes up with some good stuff, and their best is as good as anyone’s best. But what made them so great was that they were a band with two great front people, of which Norwood wasn’t one.

There’s no reason why they should have been broke and barely getting by, even with the lineup changes, and while I’d like to hear Norwood’s side, there’s no reason Angelo and Chris should have been treated like hired hands. So I get it. I wish all of them the best, but it sounds like this was a necessary thing.

CRAZY. But yeah, I don't have any problem accepting Chris's account. Makes me sad that it's come to this, am glad that he and Angelo are emotionally functional enough to deal in reality and be open to how things need to be different. And I say that as an enormous fan of Norwood, who has influenced my playing and aesthetic values for decades.

Maybe to a lot of bass players, but I can pretty much guarantee that to most Fishbone fans Angelo is the face and energy behind Fishbone. Lose Norwood and some bassist fans might stay home and skip the show; lose Angelo and I have a feeling that the only people in the room at a concert are likely to be bass players and family members.

What a very sad and unfortunate situation overall for them. I absolutely love their music and have ever since their first album but, personally I feel like they hit their peak when Reality Of My Surroundings came out and it kind of started downhill from there due to escalating internal drama and personal issues. Give a Monkey a Brain album (also one of my favorites) should have been a huge hit but somehow got buried and fizzled in the mid 90's. I'm just glad I got to see them live around that time and it was one of the craziest, loudest, second hand smoke concerts I've ever been to. :roflmao:;)

The movie had a clip with Norwood saying he didn’t like Angelo busting out a theremin and doing his Dr. Madd Vibe thing. Don’t know how Walt felt about it.
