So there's a couple different "methods" I've run across for drilling string-throughs and getting them accurately lined up. If this is something you plan on doing on more than one occasion, I'd suggest building a jig.
But if you know me at all, I'm the guy that will build a template for every single thing I'm doing, partly because the template acts as a practice piece.
Anyways, getting off track here. I'm not a huge fan of the Highline Guitars YT channel, but he has this video on how he does it...

They aren't anything fancy and I'm fairly confident anyone on this forum could throw something like this together pretty easily. In the end, it'll save your blood pressure.

I'm into the dowel on the drill press method, I will try that next time. Although honestly if I'm building a bass I don't really get the point of the whole string-through thing, I prefer a normal top loading bridge anyway. I can't hear any difference.

Momentary stutter switch. Gimmicky but fun!

Yep. But it only kills the signal for as long as I hold it down. When I let go the signal comes right back. I usually tap it in some kind of rhythmic fashion.

That's cool, I may steal that idea! What would you call that kind of switch?

Momentary pushbutton. As opposed to the push-on, push-off type.

Yep, it’s a “momentary on” switch. Connect one side of it to the hot wire on the output jack. Connect the other side of it to ground. Under normal conditions the switch is open. When you press it down, the switch closes, and shunts all signal to ground. Let go and it’s open again, and the signal goes to the jack tip like normal.

Most of those switches are push button like the Buckethead Les Paul’s but you can get momentary contact toggles also if that suits your style more.

How does that wenge sound with the holly inlays? From what I’ve read on the Interwebz I’m guessing it has a rich low end, some mild compression, with a crisp and expansive top end. Do you find that to be the case with your box?

Don’t forget the walnut burl veneer. That’s definitely going to affect the tone.
