Not getting my mail - not on the lease... any ideas?

So i'm not going to go start an account on yahoo or something to ask this, and my friends i've asked aren't sure.... here's my dilemma.

I recently moved in with my girlfriend in an apartment building, but I'm not on the lease. I changed my address for my bank and my car insurance and they said they are getting all of my mail sent back to them. Is it because I'm not on the lease? I've gotten other mail like small things on ebay. Is it because these are bank statements and car insurance statements that they need to be a confirmed address or something? Can anyone give me some (real) advice?

Shouldn't make a diff. I've had room mates in my distant past that rented a room. All they did was put their name in a spot the mail carrier could see in the mailbox. Talking to the carrier is also a good idea :) I would FIRST suggest you check to see if the address was submitted incorrectly. Just double check it. Sometimes the most obvious thing is the culprit.

Post Office rules, not always followed but they're supposed to know the last names of everyone receiving mail at an address or something like that. I put a large sticker on the inside of my mailbox, where the postal carrier can see it easily, with 3 different last names on it (mine plus 2 others). Have never had any trouble with getting all the mail delivered.

EDIT: Or, I could have said "What Funky Ghost said". :)
