Not sure if I need a DI

The best sound I remember having was going DI into a system with good monitors. No backline. I might be in a minority.

To be honest, I've never found an amp that didn't give me some issues and I think I prefer hearing my instrument going straight into a full range system. Also, in my opinion, it's the sound guy's job to make you heard when you're playing through FOH and using your rig for on-stage monitoring. Making their life easy makes things less stressful.
