Thanks! It was the selection & combination of a few specific parts including modded-into-lollypop's Fender 70's style tuners, an 60's authentic Spitfire thin black layer tort pg and a dot/bound neck made to vintage-correct specs by local luthier (Dan Ransom-SF) with expert neck finishing by Pat Wilkins. The body is a 2012 MIM 60's vintage Oly white Fender. (bought used in VGC for a good price)

So to answer your initial question - yes, you could do it. (what you would like to do) I would have liked the body being lighter (resulting in a lighter bass), but that would have added a few more hundred dollars. Besides, someday down the road I could have Pat make me a roasted ash body (light), finish it in Oly wht and dial it in weight-wise. In the meantime - I'm well happy and being happy is a good result for what it came to. (including '66 J GAS relief!) ;)
