I'm not a huge Ramones fan (yet), but if you guys think you can out pace a guy who can shove attitude through all-downstroke picking at 130+ bpm for two hours straight without even speaking breaks between songs, be my guest.

Well, like his personality or not, a personality doesnt make 35 years of good bass playign go away.
Listen to some of the songs: 100,000 years, strutter, Ladies Room, Detroit Rock City, Let Me Know, King of The Night Time World and many more. I get very angry when people say KISS is not musically valid because of their facade, and it bothers me, because they are looking at the band as a whole, not the individual members. I've also come to the conclusion that KISS is no less musically talented than AC/DC, because AC/DC is a very simple, 3-4 chord rock group. The only reason they were never criticized was because they didn't wear makeup, would KISS have been as disrespected as they are now if they hadn't worn the makeup in the first place??. And for the people who love to say that KISS would have never made it without the makeup, then how do you explain the 80's non-makeup era

Fieldy should not be mentioned in this thread, his playing goes very well with Korn's music, and he can groove.

Now that is funny ! ! ! ! I don't know you personally...just can go by what you throw out there. Trust me,I really doubt I would need your help as far as bass playing. I was into Steve Harris,Geezer Butler and Cliff Burton about 20 years ago...sorry...I've moved on.
Not sure if you're a bad player, look at The 69 Eyes, he plays the 8ths through almost everything, and doesn't seem to have a problem.

As far as I know of these specific bassists, I'd say you're better than Mike Kroger (Nickelback), Tyson Ritter (All-American Rejects), and Josh Paul (Daughtry). Keep in mind I haven't heard EVERY SINGLE SONG by these people, but from what I've seen, you're better.
saying your better than some famous bass player is completely subjective and really isnt going to do anything for you... you can say your better than a bunch of people we think arent that great, but when it comes down to it, even guys like Pete Wentz (personaly dont have issue with the guy, but i know he not very popular on TB) are apparently good enough to make a great living as a bass player which isnt easy no matter what you think. That said, if you really want people to tell you your better than X, youll have to do more than describe your skill with a sentence, and im guessing even Pete Wentz can play another one bites the dust if he felt like learning it...
Also, if you think complex = good bass line, you have no idea what the purpose of a bass player is. We're there to connect the rhythm with the melody not to solo through entire songs. there are ofcourse great bass players that can play very complex stuff and make it work. but some of the best bass lines are very simple, and some of the most respected bass players will tell you less is usually more...
