Man, you really have an eye for style. I've liked all of your pieces from reliced to slick and polished like this one.
Beautiful, especially nice touch with the lipstick tube pickups, goes perfectly with how the rest of the bass looks.
I am kind of curious though, how does the pickup sounds?
Like how would you describe their character, output, definition, clarity, do they have most in common with standard J pickups or are they more like your typical lipstick tube pickups, or something entirely different all together?
Would love to use one of those pickups in one of my P/J basses, cause they look straight out amazing, but kind of crucial that they are capable of reproducing a tone I would be interested in as well.

Gonna give them the full test drive this weekend....but initial tests through my small “house amp” are good. They are definitely lower output pickups but tonally sit well within jazz range, but still with some unique character. I’ll try to do a side by side listening test with nun62 Jazz this morning before van call, and if I do, I’ll post my thoughts. I like the neck pickup soloed quite a bit. Punchy but still with nice low end. Still sounds quite different than my old danelectro

Again, only on TB... never seen that style of pickups... when we're they introduced, and what was their run of popularity?

Not sure when they were introduced, but you can still get them. The only production bass I know of that used them is the Lakland Jerry Scheff model.
