NoVA/DC/MD Fall GTG

Phil,

Thanks muchly for thinking of me and PMing me about this!

Unfortunately I'm working late tonight, so no way I can possibly get to your place! However, I didn't even realize the airing was tonight, so you've done me a big favor, as I now will be getting home in time to watch this.

I'm also sending a heads-up to my brother, the group I'm playing with, and a few others to make sure they're aware of it. So, thanks from all of us.

I'm still hoping I can make that DVD night thing, whenever it happens.

Off-topic....but you guys are in the right location.


I need to burn about 4 hours after the museums close on saturday and when the show starts that I'm going to.


What are some cool things to do around this area that could kill a little time?

Um.... You need to know It's playing on the PBS HDTV feed only. If you don't have an HDTV feed (over cable, sattelite, or over-the-air) you won't get it.

Even on my TV which is only 800x600 HDTV looks better than DVD!

Four hours in DC in the early evening? The Hard Rock Cafe is close to downtown they have some cool rock and roll stuff there. Also, the ESPN SportsZone is a couple blocks off the mall on 11th street I think. Lots of fun games and a good bar with sports on a zillion screens. Something's always playing!

Yeah... immediately after posting I pasted your message into an email and sent it out to the folks I said I would... as I was proof-reading it all I caught the "PBS HD" bit and realized that probably meant I was out of luck.

So much for my gotta-leave excuse... I guess I'm working way late tonight after all. Sigh.

Oh well... enjoy the concert, those of you who can get it!

Jong....

You're shop rules.

I'm really hoping I made no impression on you as my brain was fried from a 6 hour car drive...which I drove 4 and 1/2 of...

and that just doesn't make since...6 hours...but that's how long it took and that's how long mapquest told us it would take....
NYC is only 2 hours further....cleveland is 2 hours less...Nashville takes the same amount of time.....craziness


But man...I hope to come back some day (even though the streets up there are crap....a grid is not a new concept people...)

It's almost embarrasing to admit this was my first time seeing in person most of these products....dingwall, aguilar, EA, Stewart, Warwick, eden.....

man, I wish I had more time.....didn't even have time to look at the settings on the 750.....man...depressing

Next time I come that way I'll have to stay a couple of days

awesome shop man...wish my brain had been working better while I was there


The fortress will be mine....stuff is going to ebay soon if I don't hear anythign from anyone on here....

Figured I'd post here.....

My plans to have a gtg in January have been modified by the Redskins' playoff berth.... I need to pay attention to the playoffs this year! Sorry folks, we really will do it I promise!

Meanwhile I'll be playing at Link Removed again next Saturday Jan 14 in case anyone's nearby and not busy.

Tomorrow, Saturday 4 February, Jong and I are going to be holding a 2x10 shootout at his shop. Please swing by anytime, if you are available--and bring a 2x10 if you've got one to add to the pile.

The plan is to introduce the little lads to Miss Aguilar 750 and see what kind of men she makes of them.

What time of day? I have practice from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. If I could make it I could bring up an Avatar Neo 210B.

Jive1, I intend to hold to my promise of buying stuff through you to show my support... I'm still wanting a Schroeder eventually, and am thinking about trying to swing a "Light" some time this year.

Darnit I can't make it. I'm helping my sister out by playing at her church for the day.... Nice chance to pull the old Jazz V out of the closet. You probably wouldn't necessarily want my 210 since it's long out of production... Still sounds great though.. :)
