Listened to it yesterday again myself.

It's not often I think of an album as "crushing." Certainly heard faster/harder/meaner, but between Seinfelds bark and the production, it was the first adjective that came to mind, and seemed to be the one that best fit the album.

Okay, so I'm usually listening to Ray Brown dese days.

But I saw Collateral and heard Shadow on the Sun by Audioslave. I think Timmy C has the best rock bass tone I've ever heard! Maybe I just like his playing too -- but his bass just sounds perfect, so muscular and expressive too.

I'm a jazzer, but it's like watching the Olympics...I appreciate anyone's mastery of what they do. Timmy C has the rock thing dialed!

Does Ray Brown have a solo career? Who else has he worked with? I'm only familiar with his work in the Oscar Peterson Trio.
