Yes, a clean blend would be nice. But there are other and nicer ways to get that function going on. I didn't want to add a blend knob because of space, and that would make it specific for bass. I also want guitar players to enjoy it..is part of my vision that my products are as universal as they could be.

yes, the "broken" mode at high gain is extremely compressed..paradoxically, at lower gains it is extremely dynamic.. it has to do with the way i messed with the Bias voltage when clipping. I should have shown more "mid gain" sounds.. i went from slightly overdrive to full blown distortion..

Well, as they say "there is no bad tone; there is only wrong tone for given situation". And with this kind of versatility there's no wrong situation for this pedal ;)

That's so true..that's why i left so many weird tones inside..i knew that in the right context, they will fit in perfectly..

WOW that sounds nice...I'm at work so I had to click through the bass demo pretty quick, but lots of really neat things going on. I love a blend knob, but it's also refreshing not to have one. Stomp and buckle up.

One thing that really sounds epic is to put a low octaver on the fx loop, assigned to the boost.. Stomp the boost and is DOOM..

Maybe it's just my ears, but the low end on this pedal doesn't really seem to pump all that much. Seems kinda flabby. Perhaps throwing it in a blend pedal would work. My main concern is that layout. I don't understand the thought process behind stuffing a small enclosure full of knobs, toggles and trimmers and then putting the bypass switches a few millimeters away. Seems like a recipe for disaster if one were to be using this live. This isn't a complaint on this pedal alone, a lot of builders place the bypass switches too close to important knobs IMO. I'm all for saving space on a board, but not at the potential expense of me stomping on a knob or two mid set.

Well, i adjusted the bass response to my liking..i used a medium semi open cabinet sim on the omnicabsim. i should have used a closed one..or much better yet, should've got a decent bass player with a bass amp..
Flabbiness..well, the voice control manages that..tight or flabby, you just tune it with that knob..

About the layout..i know exactly what you mean.. the production version has shorter, sturdier switches..unless you hit the pedal with the heel of a stilleto shoe, you won't be able to touch the switches..the trimmer is also just 3mm over the surface..

It's a tight layout..i know..but i wanted it to be small so it doesn't take too much pedalboard space, specially with the fx loop at the top, where probably you'd put the looped pedal.

Though I am excited about this and more than likely will break down and order, because I love the OmniCabSim. The pedal seems to lean more toward the guitar side of things. Versatility may have hurt this pedal as far as the bass usage goes. Just one mans opinion, and may be totally wrong when the pedal is in my hands, but the way everything reads/sounds it really may not be the most bass friendly design. I still hope I'm wrong though.

Thanks for your insight..from the beginning of the design phase i was worried that the excess of versatility could be detrimental as a product, but, if well done, it could be its biggest asset. I ran a small poll between my FB friends about 1 trick pony vs versatility, and versatility won by far. Ussually versatility comes by sacrificing good tone, so i spent more than a year designing it so the pedal would sound amazing AND be the most versatile available.
So far, the bass players that had tried and bought the first units are very impressed with the tone..just like the omnicabsim it has a learning curve so you can visualize a tone and model it accurately.. They also were afraid that they will miss the blend knob..but by carefully setting the voice knob and the gain at the right spots, the drive is so transparent that is not really necessary. Is not the same as a blend knob, though, but different.
As a common impression, they were most blown away with the "broken" setting..it is just mean!!
I will be working hard to make a better demo video with a decent player..mr excane has one on his way, so I'm very very stoked to hear his impressions..

Postal service last month, worldwide, was abysmal. I have to refund/repost 5 lost units (that's literally 5% of my production, add to that 7 units retained at customs, and 2 units i sent to "reviewers" that vanished..that's 14% of my business just gone )...so thank you for considering the drive maker!!
