Long overdue, but as promised here's the song I used the OCS on and I'm really happy with how it turned out!
Great sound and great mix!

How did the gig go?Mine arrived today!
I've been playing with it for a few minutes, sounds great, but I don't really have an intuitive grasp of it quite yet.
Interestingly, what it does to the sound is similar to the way I use the B7K (as clean but ballsy preamp). But the two together sound amazing, and surprisingly it doesn't sound processed, just big.
Daniel (or anybody else): The last two things in my chain are the B7K --> Cali76 Compressor. I'm trying different orders, but it seems the most logical thing is:
B7K -> Cali76 -> OCS
This seemed to sound the most open and clear, and the difference between clean/distorted tones was somehow a bit more satisfying.
Or would it make more sense to put the compressor last:
B7K -> OCS -> Cali76
This also sounded good, but seemed a bit more smoothed out, maybe too much.
Any opinions? Bear in mind I'm hearing all this through an Ampeg SVT-II and a Greenboy Dually. Not exactly a flat-response setup, I'll try the fEARfuls later.
But I'm going to take it on a gig tonight, so we'll see!
The gig went great. The OCS gives an added level of "cut" that is a bit surprising at first. For this gig it was perfect on the "big 810" setting with my Nordy VP5. It was a keyboard/bass/drums trio with a female vocalist, very dark slow "baroque pop" with a lot of sustained low notes. Then Sunday I had a live-in-the-studio recording session, Bollywood style pop. used something more like the 115 setting, and it worked very nicely. I was using my Dingwall Super P5. All in all, I'm very happy with it. It will take a bit of practice to figure out what works best with different basses/amps/cabs/rooms/styles, but it seems like a keeper.How did the gig go?
About the placement order, well, it's a matter of taste..personally i'd put the compressor before the OCS for extra headroom..
Hey snowglo!! I'm glad it arrived safely!!
Let us know your impressions!!
Cheers to all!!
Hey guys has anyone else that purchased one received their OCS?
That´s great!! it works wonders with guitar.. btw it´s "OCS"Used my OCS last night at rehearsal and I must say I liked how the 1x15 and 8x10 settings added fullness to my tone. My signal chain is; Rick 4003>Barbershop>VMTD>Fdeck HPF>OCD>Crest Pro>fEarful 12/6.
I didn't notice and tone coloration, just fullness.
Since we are down a gui**** in the band, I have been running my 4003 in the modern setting to fatten up my tone, even though I prefer the vintage tone with the cap engaged. Now I'm able to run vintage utining the OCD settings previously listed.
I think the OCD is going to be wonderful when I get it dialed in to FOH (new PA also arrived, didn't have time), and when recording. Trying to push the gui**** to give it a shot since he also has tone issues and can never seem to hear himself thru his 50 watt VOX and 4x12 cab. I really want him to try the OCD by removing his amp and cab and going strait to the PA.
oh, thats not good, have you tried maxing out the resonance and cab size? that should give you a massive thump, if not, please pm me to find a solutionYes, but no matter what I try, the bottom end is lost.
Actually, if you leave the resonance around 50-70% and the cab size at max, the bottom end stays pretty flat down to 65HzI don't really understand why those cabsims lack the feature of letting the signal below 200Hz (or so) untouched. Let's be honest, we want a sim for the highs (or at least that's my approach).
