UPDATE...
Threw this together before practice tonight.. for electric guitar..

Six string..to this.. to FOH.. Purely awesome!! I love how effortless this is to dial in and get an amazing sound..
Now I have to get a second to keep on my bass board with my Noble.. the struggle is too real, friends
Yeah!! Most people overlook how great it is with guitars. I used only a PA speaker for the Namm and it sounded even better than the amps.

These days I'm trying to convince my guitarist to get one because he's always disappointed in the sound he gets FOH with his miced cab.

Show him my board... this is all I had, no amp at all... it sounded great!! And I'm not a guitarist by any means.. so.. of it can help me come across as competent, I'm positive he'll work wonders with it

Wow!

@Dsmnoisemaker , this is a fantastic pedal.

I really appreciate that you put in the stereo aux and the stereo headphone out.

I play ampless 100% of the time when I play out. Though I am provided an Aviom personal mixer on stage, the sound techs frequently change the gain levels between sets without warning and without further sound checks. When that happens, I can no longer hear myself play as the drop in gain kills my personal mix. I don't discover the issue until we launch into the first song of the next set.

With the OCSD, I will send the Aviom feed to the Aux In (via my Tasty Blender to add limiters) and then plug my IEMs into the Heaphone out of the OCSD. That way I will always be able to hear myself play. I have simulated this with a mixer at home and it works well.

It is still the case that I should avoid phantom power with the OCSD? If so I will use the 1/4 inch output and send the signal to another DI that is not hurt by phantom power.

For anyone else who has read through this whole thread before buying one of these pedals, the current OCSD (with 'Headphone Out' instead of 'Headphone (Mono)') there was no issus with the headphone volume soaring once the aux signal stopped. This was an issue with a previous version of the pedal but it has been fixed.

I only use clean tones with my bass, but even with clean tones, the OCSD made my bass sound better. I used triple driver IEMs and listened through the headphone out of the OCSD to sample the various settings. Below are two tasy settings that I have found so far.

I liked tone of the recording when I sent the XLR out to a multi-track recorder.

I liked how I no longer hear any hum when I mix single coil mode with series or parallel with on my Sire M7 bass when using the headphone out of the OCSD. That will open up even more tone options on that bass.

The pass thru is nice when I want to play through an amp in my practice space.

Overall, I am very happy with this pedal!

Thanks for the feedback!!
Yes, the whole headphone part was improved a lot, is not as loud as the previous version but the trade off is beneficial.

I like your settings, too. Scooping the mids out and cranking the cab size and resonance makes it sound huuuge!

I should still avoid phantom power, correct?
Yes. It has some temporal protection, but sustained phantom may damage it.
Thanks!

Is this something that would pair up well with an MXR M80 preamp? I like the VT Bass DI but even still to my ears I’m happier with the cleanliness of the M80 but it’s the speaker sim of the VTDI that I miss having on the M80. Thinking of returning the VTDI and giving this a shot instead. It looks like it has a quality DI output as well if I’m not mistaken?

LOL...turbo omni may be underway...
There are many reasons why i rather use an active DI than a transformer based one..
Audio transformers here are ridiculously expensive..and bulky..it wouldn't fit on the standard Hammond box..and even the best transformer can't beat the linearity of active DI response..the only advantage of transformer based DI is that you can make a passive box..but if you already have voltage in there, the active is the way to go.
The omni is protected for standard phantom voltages..but you never know what's the voltage or the current capabilities from the phantom source, so i take it with a grain of salt..and rather discourage the use of phantom power just in case it can exceed the current capability of the protection..

BTW thanks also for putting the word "lift" on the side of the switch that lifts the ground! (I can never remember on certain DIs that just say "ground lift"....um, more details please? LOL). Loving mine!
