NPD : Edison

Thanks guys. I have one of these on order and it's my first pedal I've purchased. I didn't know as a standalone power supply if like a D'addario 9V power supply off Amazon would be acceptable.

That's a fantastic first pedal! As long as the mA output of the D'addario matches the needs of the Edison at 250mA of power, it'll be fine. Double check that the D'addario is center negative on the plug though.

Thank you! I've been holding out for awhile but I think it will add that tube saturation I've been after! OK center negative, and say the cord is rated higher than the 250 is that still ok? Thanks for helping a newbie with all these questions haha.

It does tube saturation fantastically.

A higher power rating in the brick is fine/better. The pedal will draw what it draws. It's bad for both when the pedal wants more current than the power brick.

Quick question/necro post haha which power supply unit are you guys running with your Edison?
I’ve run mine off Dunlop, D’Addario, One Spot, and an Outlaw Effects Iron Horse tuner/power supply. The closest thing I’ve had to a problem was that the 250mA tap on the Iron Horse didn’t cooperate with my unit; it works just fine with the 500mA tap. The builder (Seth) lurks on here and is very responsive via Instagram.

I love mine. It disconnected because I'm trying out the Sushi Box More at the moment. I'll not get rid of the Edison though.

I have been using an Edison into a More with pretty great results. I juggle the gain on each if I want more of one flavor than the other to come through. Endless possibilities.

I run mine on OneSpot and its split 5 ways. Sounds good even when i give it independent power.

I recently came into a 1967 Mullard EF86 to replace the original. I would highly recommend replacing the original. I love the pedal but i found i wasn't getting enough headroom and the saturation was quick.
The Mullard doesn't have tons more head room but the saturation sounds great and i get nice little honkyness
Also have my edison in the middle of my chain. After dirt, before effects

Just got this in today from the latest batch and i'm already in love. Thanks to everyone's pointers as well!
